Deputy Manager (Welding)

SS Power I Ltd. a joint venture company (JVC) between S. Alam Group of Bangladesh and Chinese companies, SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co., Limited (SEPCOIII in short) and HTG Development Group Co., is one of the largest investments ever in the power sector of Bangladesh by any Private Company with the intent of providing sustainable and reliable power supply to the Country to attain self-sufficiency and meet its developmental needs. SS Power I Ltd is currently executing the 2 x 660 MW Coal fired Super Critical Thermal Power Plant at Banskhali near Chittagong on a Build, Own and Operate Model. To meet its immediate needs, SS Power I Limited is looking for professionals.

Job Location:  Banskhali Project Site.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Carry out effective and timely inspection on material, piping, structure, and painting, NDT, Testing etc as per approved ITP, MOS, Code and standard to meet the quality requirement.
  • Provide direction on continuous improvement efforts to improve the quality of welds by Implementation of welding parameter check and record during welding operation, surveillance and briefing and training of EPC manager, supervisor, engineer, welder, NDT personnel, welding team, QAQC team.
  • Review NDT reports and monitor NDT activities like RT, MT, PT, and UT and perform NDT interpret the RT films.
  • Witness of Destructive test, WQT (welder qualification test), hydro test, leak test, Pneumatic test and Chemical Flushing.
  • Monitor preheat/PWHT and Review PWHT chart.
  • Raise, Track, analyze and close NCR’S, observation and Audit findings for continuous improvement of Quality management system.

Basic Discipline / Qualification:

  • B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed University.
  • Certified welding Inspector CSWIP 3.1 or AWS and Experienced with Coal fired Power Plants shall get preference.
  • Knowledge of Code and Standards related to ASME, AWS, ASTM, and AWWA.
  • Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of WPS, WQT, welding process SAW,GMAW,GTAW,SMAW
  • Knowledge of NDT, Heat treatment, Painting.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

Experience:

  • Minimum 06-08 year(s) experience in relevant field.
