Job Title: HR Executive

The Source (MEDICI FASHION DMCC), a visionary fashion sourcing hub headquartered in Dubai, is looking for a dynamic Executive in the HR Dept. to lead, direct, and manage the day-to-day Human Resources and Administration functions for our Bangladesh operation. The role is pivotal to the organization’s ability to run smoothly and without interruption.  This dynamic role has to handle HR & employee-related services, regulatory compliance, and employee relations among many other tasks such as office management, facilities management, policy development, travel management & so on related to the Organisation.
The role will be expected to:

  • Develop and administer HR plans and procedures that relate to company personnel.
  • Plan, organize and control activities and actions for the smooth day-to-day operation.
  • Contribute to the development towards the organisational goals, objectives, and systems in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
Core Responsibilities:

Your essential job responsibility will be to provide oversight and guidance to the development and monitoring of processes related to recruitment and retention, compliance, compensation and benefits, training and development. Additionally, you need to support operations by supervising staff; planning, organizing, and implementing the administrative system.

Recruitment and Retention

  • Develop and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Prepare JD and review job advertisements prior to posting, screen CVs, conduct telephone screenings, coordinate interview teams, and participate in interviewing candidates.
  • Ensure candidate documentation is collected and recorded/filed.
  • Oversee all staff engagement for the country office and manage the new hire orientation and exit process.

Compliance and Record-keeping

  • Annually review the Personnel Handbook recommending amendments needed due to changes in local conditions or labour laws.
  • Implementing performance review procedures (e.g. quarterly/annual and 360° evaluations)
  • Manage time clocking system for office, ensuring timely submission, approval, accuracy, and filing.

Compensation and Benefits

Payroll and Budget

  • Coordinate with Finance Manager/ Payroll service provider in the preparation of monthly Payroll.
  • Advise the Director of Operation on appropriate staffing levels and assist in budget preparation.
  • Review employee final payments for accuracy and compliance with labour laws.

Training, Development, and Performance Maintenance

  • Organize orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Undertake employee training and development along with the recommendations and proposals.
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of annual performance reviews.

Employee Relations

  • Coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
  • Work with senior management to resolve employee relations issues pragmatically.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment.

Administration

  • Ensure smooth running of all HR administrative functions in the country office.
  • Investigate employee relations issues and work to ensure human resources-related decisions are consistent and fair.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure the appropriate transport support management towards the office staff.
Requirements for the position include but are not limited to:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational behaviour, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of HR Leadership experience with responsibility for direct reports in multiple HR and administration functions.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and local language skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Must be familiar with country-specific laws and regulations governing Human Resources.
  • Must have strong work ethic and be self-motivated with the flexibility to work in a remote environment: must be able to work and communicate well with senior executives and fellow employees.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise.
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, analyse situations, and make decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, to enable professional interaction with a wide range of contacts, both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Strong time-management and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent IT skills, including a working knowledge of HR software packages & presentation software packages, preferably Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
