SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Village International is probably the largest private child welfare humanitarian organization working more than 130 countries and territories in the world. In Bangladesh, we started our operations in Dhaka in 1972, and since then we have expanded our activities from here to Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat, Chattogram, Bogura and Sylhet.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates for the smooth operation of the following position.

Position: Project Officer-Procurement

Location of Job: Any SOS Location in Bangladesh

Nature of Job: Fixed Term Contract (Yearly renewable based on performance)

Area of Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and implementation of the annual procurement plan in alignment with project work plans and budgets.
  • Coordinate procurement activities across consortium partners to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain a procurement tracking system and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Prepare bidding documents, request for quotations (RFQs), and manage tender processes in accordance with organizational rules.
  • Evaluate supplier bids, prepare bid analysis reports, and facilitate procurement committee meetings.
  • Maintain an updated database of approved suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Prepare, review, and manage contracts, purchase orders, and agreements with vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with national procurement laws, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract terms are met, including quality assurance and timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all procurement activities, bids, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required procurement documentation.
  • Update procurement dashboards/status and submit periodic procurement status reports.
  • Support cost analysis and ensure all purchases align with approved budgets.
  • Work closely with finance teams to ensure proper coding, documentation, and reconciliation of procurement-related expenditures.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement in procurement workflows.
  • Provide guidance and training to partners and field staff on procurement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Assist in developing standardized templates and tools for procurement management within the project.
  • Liaise with project teams, vendors, and partners to ensure effective communication and coordination of procurement needs.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for project correspondence, contracts, and financial documents.
  • Coordinate event logistics such as workshops, training sessions, and field visits.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, procurement committee sessions, and donor compliance briefings.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduation degree in any discipline (preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Economics). At least 2nd Division/Class or equivalent in all public examinations.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in development projects or donor-funded programs.
  • Strong knowledge of national procurement regulations and contract management principles.
  • Adequate knowledge and skills in computer applications, especially MS Office packages, digital communication tools, and flexibility to work with project management software.

Salary & Benefits: As per Organisation Policy (Negotiable for highly competent candidates).
