SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Village International is probably the largest private child welfare humanitarian organization working more than 130 countries and territories in the world. In Bangladesh, we started our operations in Dhaka in 1972, and since then we have expanded our activities from here to Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat, Chattogram, Bogura and Sylhet.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates for the smooth operation of the following position.

Position: Manager – MEAL

Location of Job: Any SOS Location in Bangladesh

Nature of Job: Fixed Term Contract (Yearly renewable based on performance)

Area of Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and youth participants to achieve individual goals through education and skill training.
  • Design and implement an M & E framework to track project progress, outcomes, and impact, ensuring alignment with project goals and donor requirements.
  • Develop data collection tools, methodologies, and systems for monitoring project activities across multiple locations.
  • Assist in the revision of the project log frame matrix, particularly in the areas of performance indicators and their measurement.
  • Assist in the development and/or finalization of the detailed project work plan and update project activities and timeframes.
  • Assist in developing the overall framework for project M & E including mid-term project review and impact assessment. This includes developing a project performance monitoring plan with relevant data collection systems.
  • Review the quality of existing data and collection methods.
  • Maintain baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators.
  • Liaise with collaborating partners to review their management information systems and agree on any required changes, support, and resources.
  • Organize and undertake training with collaborating partners on M & E as required.
  • Ensure timely monitoring and evaluation at project/initiative level, in line with SOS Bangladesh and stakeholder frameworks and requirements.
  • Guide MEAL in preparation of monitoring tool and place the monitoring system in consultation with project leads to integrating the system with regular project visit and sharing.
  • Support the team to submit quality and timely reporting to IOR-ASIA, HO and CVW.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to teams to generate, document and disseminate information, learning and evidence relevant inside and outside SOS Bangladesh.
  • Coordinate with Communication and Advocacy for building and promoting positive image of the organization.
  • Preparation of documents (e.g. FC 1, FD 2, FD 6, FD 7) to get approval from appropriate Govt. authority.
  • Communicate with IOR-ASIA, HO and CVW in getting technical support and provide timely report as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with existing donors and ensure on time and quality reports submission.
  • Satisfy the donors with addressing time-to-time requirements e.g., case story, video, documents, occasional reports.
  • Oversee data collection processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data from field teams and partners.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess the effectiveness and impact of project interventions.
  • Ensure data is disaggregated by gender, age, and other relevant factors for more targeted analysis.
  • Prepare high-quality M & E reports, including monthly, quarterly, and final reports, as per project and donor requirements.
  • Document key lessons learned, best practices, and success stories, contributing to organizational learning and future project design.
  • Maintain a well-organized database of M & E findings and documentation for easy access and reference.
  • Provide training and ongoing technical support to project staff and local partners on M & E concepts, tools, and best practices.
  • Strengthening the capacity of local partner NGOs (PNGO) in monitoring, data management, and reporting to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Ensure that project activities meet established quality standards and are implemented in compliance with SOS and PNGO’s policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify data, monitor project implementation, and provide feedback to field teams for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Programme Manager, program staff, and field teams to ensure that M & E processes are integrated into project planning and implementation.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including other L/N/INGO’s, donors, to align M&E activities with broader program objectives and frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of learning and adaptive management within the project team by using M & E findings to inform decision-making and improve program performance.
  • Facilitate learning workshops, reviews, and reflection sessions to assess progress and make necessary adjustments to project strategies.
  • Support advocacy efforts by providing evidence-based data and insights from the M & E process to stakeholders, partners, and donors.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to disseminate key M & E findings and project achievements to the public and relevant audiences.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in relevant subject
  • Minimum 8 years of professional work experience in the relevant field
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) with community and relevant stakeholders 
  • Well-known local language/dialect and ability to work with people from different cultures, gender, religion, race, nationality and age
  • Highly energetic, motivated and ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of different government structures and excellent understanding of humanitarian assistance in emergencies
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
  • Proficiency in MS office tools, including Word and Power Point
  • Critical and creative thinking and analytical skills. Ability to compose, edit, analysis and report using complex information
  • Experience of partnership management.

Salary & Benefits: As per Organisation Policy (Negotiable for highly competent candidates).
