SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Village International is probably the largest private child welfare humanitarian organization working more than 130 countries and territories in the world. In Bangladesh, we started our operations in Dhaka in 1972, and since then we have expanded our activities from here to Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat, Chattogram, Bogura and Sylhet.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates for the smooth operation of the following position.

Position: Assistant Officer-Programme

Location of Job: Any SOS Location in Bangladesh

Nature of Job: Contractual.

Area of Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the young people to bring up good human being with modest behavior.
  • Support children and youth participants to achieve individual goals through education and skill training.
  • To prepare child sponsorship letters in story telling technique, SPO lab video and pictures.
  • To prepare village sponsorship letters in story telling technique, SPO lab video and village pictures.
  • To prepare sponsorship related child departure text.
  • Demonstrate initiative in order to maximize each youth’s achievement and potential.
  • Responsible for running the facility smoothly as per the Children’s Village Programme Regulations.
  • Encourage youth to enrol into employable education and find suitable technical courses.
  • Ensure child & youth safeguarding and rights at every stage in the location level.
  • Ensure that agreed work plans are successfully implemented at the location level.
  • Organize counselling/training/workshop/meetings for the youth and co-workers as needed regularly.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Must have a post-graduation degree in any discipline (preferably in Social Science and English). At least 2nd Division / Class in all public examinations.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience of working with the children and youth groups.
  • Have knowledge of child rights & and protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
  • Having strong leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality analytical reports and facilitate discussions at national and international levels.
  • Adequate knowledge and skills in computer applications, especially MS Office packages & ICT and flexible to work in software.
  • Age Limit: 25 years to 35 years.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Residential: BDT 25,000.00 along with single accommodation.
  • Non Residential: BDT 30,000.
