SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social development organisation that provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of a caring family environment. SOS Children's Villages operates in over 130 countries and territories worldwide. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently have programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Sylhet and Bagerhat.
Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve the national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.
SOS National Training Centre (NTC) Dhaka is an integral project of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh that commenced in 1997. Since its inception, the Centre has been contributing extensively to developing desirable skills of Mothers and Co-workers based on the strategic goals of the organization. As well as, NTC provides training venue along with accommodations and food to different organisations and cooperates.
SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates for the smooth operation of the National Training Centre in the following position.
Position: Assistant Officer -Admin & Accounts
Location of job: National Training Centre, Dhaka
Job Nature: Yearly renewable based on performance.
Area of Responsibilities:
- To support and organise different internal and external training sessions.
- Maintain a relationship with the target population and the local stakeholders for smooth accomplishment of the training events.
- Ensure timely arrangement of the training through maintaining organised engagement of the trainers.
- Ensure maintenance of the training Centre through availing support from other staff.
- Maintaining accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, and other relevant data and preparing & submitting reports in time.
- Keep updated on the NTC Facebook Page.
- Handle petty cash, bank transactions, and maintain the cheque register.
- Prepare the bank book and cash book, enter data into D365 ERP software, and generate vouchers from the system.
- Prepare monthly payroll and pay slips, and disburse salaries and allowances to co-workers.
- Prepare documents related to applicable VAT & Tax deduction and ensure depositing the same to the Govt. Exchequer.
- Keeping a record of monthly income and expenditure.
- Doing all the procurement process, including quotation invitation, making PO and other relevant jobs.
- Maintain record of kitchen & residential inventory.
- Communicating with external clients as well as vendors to purchase different inspirational materials.
- Communicate with vendors to provide food on time for training sessions as per the budget.
- To work as a team member to make SOS NTC Dhaka financially self-sufficient.
- Looking after all ICT-related equipment and machinery.
Educational Requirements & Experience:
- Postgraduate from a Government-recognised university is preferred, not less than 2nd Division/Class in any Public Examination.
- Three years’ hands-on experience in the training institution.
Additional Requirements:
- Age: 28 to 35 years.
- Self-Driven with a zeal to-do approach
- Passionate about the development of children and youths
- Excellent team player with a positive attitude.
- Meticulous, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of principles of Gender Equity, Diversity and safeguarding standards.
- Strong moral & ethical character and good physical & mental health with strong integrity.
- Candidates should have a good command of English and Bengali (both written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and the internet is necessary and flexible to work in software.
Salary & Benefits: BDT 30,000.00
