SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children's Villages works in more than 137 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently has programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Kurigram, Sylhet, Cox’s Bazar, and Bagerhat.
Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve the national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability, and ending violence against children.
SOS Bangladesh is going to launch a new Consortium project for the economic empowerment of vulnerable youths and vulnerable families called Green Pathways: Climate Smart Skill Development for Vulnerable Youth in Khulna and Gazipur, Bangladesh. SOS Bangladesh is seeking competent candidates to manage and coordinate a new Consortium project in the following position:
Position: Consortium Manager
Nature of Job: Regular but yearly renewable based on performance.
Location of job: National Office, Dhaka
Area of Key Responsibilities
- Responsible to manage the consortium project with a partnership approach.
- Responsible for the administration, financial, and resource management of the assigned project.
- Ensure that agreed work plans are successfully implemented at the consortium level.
- Ensures that the individual needs and rights of the children and youth are addressed, respected, and protected
- Co-ordinates the planning and budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation processes for the SOS Children’s Village as well as the assigned consortium project.
- Leads and strategically supports all co-workers according to SOS Children's Village policies and values, as well as acknowledged and contextualised guidelines of leadership, management, and HRD.
- Promotes strong links (communication, teamwork and the sharing of knowledge) between SOS families, youth care co-workers, other village co-workers and consortium staff.
- Builds positive relationships with children and youth through day-to-day interactions and regular meetings.
- Ensures that youth programmes offer career, learning and development opportunities for youths
- Ensures appropriate accessibility of village facilities to the neighbouring communities and consortium members.
- Ensure safe programming and address any potential risks in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an advocacy plan, entrepreneurship development at the consortium level.
- Development and implementation of different TVET modules and facilitating the training as per the module.
- Support the technical feasibility of Public Private Partnership (PPP) options in the location and mobilizing investments from both public and private entities.
- Prepare investment documentation, including investment briefs, memos, presentations, financial models, and scenario analysis.
- Design and conduct supply side studies on livelihood and value chain analysis, market analysis etc.
- Support the implementation of SOS’s monitoring for the results framework.
- Identify, document, and explore replication of good practices.
- Support content development related to the component for external communications.
- Support in organising and facilitating field visits for key stakeholders to share experiences and good practices.
- Responsible for increasing partners and friends of the organization and maintaining good relationships with them.
- Adhere to organisation standards and regulations such as the Code of Conduct, Child & Youth Safeguarding, Sexual Misconduct Regulation (PSHEA) or any other policies/ regulations as introduced from time to time.

- Significant experience in developing and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives directly delivering change.
- Ability to work independently, as well as member of a team, and to be flexible to accommodate the needs of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead the assignment and the team with remote supervision.
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills both in English and Bangla.
Educational Qualification, Experience & Other Requirement:
- Post Graduate degree in any discipline with not less than 2nd division/class in any public examination.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience, with at least 6 years of experience at the project management level in the development sector/NGO/INGO, or government agencies.
- Track record of delivering excellent results in leadership roles and commanding respect.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation; ability to produce and disseminate high-quality programme narratives.
- Have knowledge of child rights & and protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
- Age limit: Minimum 40 years
