SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social development organization that provides care for children who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it, and who are deprived of a caring family environment. SOS Children's Villages operates in more than 130 countries and territories around the world.

In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and currently have programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Sylhet, and Bagerhat.

Our programmes contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on our target group. We work to improve the national social protection system, fight inequalities, promote access to quality education, strengthen youth employability, and end violence against children.

SOS Children’s Village Bangladesh is set to expand its Family Strengthening (FS) Programme in Kurigram District. This five-year project (2025–2029) aims to address the basic needs and ensure a better future for vulnerable children and youth who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it. The project focuses on enabling children and young people to grow up in a safe, secure, and caring family environment within their communities.

Applications are now invited for the following Positions: 

Position: Assistant Officer-Programme

Location of Job: Family Strengthening Programme, Kurigram

Nature of Job: Contractual for 05 years (Yearly Renewable)

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Implement all activities under the Family Strengthening Program (FSP), including Direct Family Empowerment (DFE) and Community Empowerment for Family Empowerment (CFE).
  • Organize programs for children and youth focusing on life skills, personality development, and related areas.
  • Facilitate livelihood skills training for youth and household members of FSP families.
  • Monitor and report on child and youth protection activities and ensure the promotion of child rights within the project.
  • Organize and conduct community awareness activities, form social institutions, and mobilize communities to reduce harmful practices in the community
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation of Family Development Plans (FDP) for FSP families.
  • Enter and regularly update data in the PDB2 system, including FDP and other relevant fields.
  • Maintain liaison and communication with local communities, government and non-government organizations, and relevant institutions.
  • Establish and maintain close contact with FSP beneficiaries, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and the organization’s Code of Conduct.
  • Update monthly meeting registers and facilitate regular meetings.
  • Prepare and submit all required periodic reports, and case studies in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work/social Welfare/Sociology/Anthropology or any other Social Science discipline, not less than 2nd Division/Class in any Public Examination.
  • Candidates with experience working in childcare organizations will get preferences.
  • Proficiency in ICT.
  • Age up to 35 years.

Salary & Benefits:
BDT 30,000/= (Consolidated)
