SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Village International is probably the largest private child welfare humanitarian organization working more than 130 countries and territories in the world. In Bangladesh, we started our operations in Dhaka in 1972, and since then we have expanded our activities from here to Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat, Chattogram, Bogura and Sylhet.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

Application is invited for the following position:

Position: Assistant Officer

Location of Job: Khulna

Nature of Job: Residential

Area of Responsibilities:

  • Support youths in building reliable and long-term relationship.
  • Maintain regular contact with the youths living in boarding houses/hostels and support them according to their needs including maintaining records.
  • Responsible for academic performance of the youths, involves accessing the strength, locating suitable schools / colleges / institutions / universities, admission into educational institutions, visiting schools / colleges / institutions / universities, organizing tutorial support.
  • Prepare annual development plan of every individual child by discussing with the child and mother.
  • Support management, children and youth to establish effective child care system.
  • Encourage children to enroll into employable education & find out suitable technical courses and to promote life skills & develop leadership qualities and healthy recreations for the children.
  • Support the training of household skills to enable the youths to keep a safe, hygienic and homely living environment.
  • Organize sports/games and recreational activities in structured way.
  • Participate in youth activities in the Youth House and community.
  • Adherence to the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy & Code of Conduct and Sexual Misconduct Regulation (PSHEA) of the organization.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders both government and other non-government bodies to meet the statutory and compliance issues.

Educational Requirements & Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology/ Child Development and Family Relation/ Social Work/ Social Welfare/Social Science, not less than 2nd Division/ Class in any Public Examination.
  • Candidates having experience to work in child care organizations will get preferences.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to work at and to stay in within the SOS premises.
  • Strong interest in the needs and development of the children.
  • Strong command in English report writing and presentation.
  • High interpersonal skills and coordination skills.
  • Willingness to make a long-term commitment.
  • Age up to 35 years

Salary & Benefits: Residential:

  • BDT 16,000.00 along with single accommodation.

After probation period of 06 (Six) months, upon confirmation, incumbent will be entitled to receive regular Salary Scale along with Festival Bonus, Contributory Provident Fund and Gratuity, Children’s Education Allowance, Group Insurance (Death & Accidental) as per existing policy of the organization.
