SOS Children's Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Villages International is currently working in 138 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently has programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Sylhet and Bagerhat.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

Application is invited for the following position:

Position: Coordinator - Emergency Response

Job Location: Sylhet

Nature of Job: Contractual (for 6 months)

Key Performance Area:

  • Co-ordinate and implement the programme as per project design and in line with the organization Mission, Vision & Values.
  • Create strategic relationships with all stakeholders who are involved in the emergency programme, such as government agencies, community groups, employees, volunteers and non-government organizations.
  • Result and activity-based monitoring, Evaluation and documentation of the programme.
  • Organise training, meeting, workshops for capacity development of the programme staffs.
  • Maintain liaison and reporting as per requirement of the donors.
  • Manage and coordinate the programmer as per budget.
  • Follow all the financial rules and regulation of the organization and maintain all government compliance regarding the programme.
  • Regular liaison with the management of the organization and give update and report the progress of the programme.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Masters in Disaster Management/Development studies/ Social Work / Social Welfare / Social Science, English, not less than 2nd Division/Class in any Public Examination.
  • 4-5 years of experience in emergency Project Management.
  • Have Knowledge of Log Frame analysis and RBM monitoring tool.
  • Ability to produce analytical report, best practices for the development of the programme
  • Have knowledge of child rights & protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
  • Candidates should have a good command in English languages (both written and speaking).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and the internet is necessary and flexible to work in software.
  • Candidates are expected to have strong leadership quality, excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

Additional Requirements:

  • Age Limit : 30 to 40 Years
  • Willingness to travel in the remote area to deal with the affected people.
  • Sensitivity to gender issues
  • Strong moral character and good physical & mental health
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Salary: Consolidated 60,000/-
