Liaison Officer

SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is an international humanitarian organization based in Paris, France, which provides aid and assistance to victims of war and natural disasters. For the past 35 years, the organization’s vocation has been to meet the three vital needs - drinking, eating and sheltering – of vulnerable populations around the world. Our programs mainly focus on emergency relief actions related to water and sanitation but also related to food security as well as shelter and infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction.


Affectation: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Duration of the contract: up to June 30, 2020 (with possibility of extension)

Responsibilities and description of tasks:

The liaison officer carries out administrative duties related to obtaining administrative and legal documents for expatriates (visas, work permits, flights) and maintains good working relations with the various local administrative bodies. Assists in the processing of other official registrations, as and when required.

He/she maintains the files of expatriates.

He/she undertakes occasional translation tasks at the request of the Human Resources Coordinator or Head of Mission

His/ her main responsibilities in below:

Carry out administrative procedures on behalf of expatriate personnel:

  • Submit, follow and obtain administrative legal documents: visas, work permits, travel authorizations;
  • Take steps to obtain visas for expatriate breaks;
  • Maintain a spread sheet detailing document expiry dates and renew documents in time;
  • Make flight reservations for international and domestic flights;
  • Report to the administrator on the status of on-going procedures on a daily basis;

Represent the association to local administrative bodies:

  • Keep up-to-date of changes to administrative procedure pertaining to obtaining documents;
  • Establish or reinforce relations with administrative bodies;
  • Meet with representatives from the various administrative bodies as often as needed to obtain documents or resolve related issues.

Maintain the administrative files of expatriates:

  • Put together expatriate files: contracts, photographs, photocopies of passports and driving licenses, visas, etc.


  • Undertake the task of translating official documents at the request of the Assistant Coordinator and/or Head of Mission
  • Provide simultaneous interpretation during meetings at the request of the Assistant Coordinator or Head of Mission

Any other tasks as required by Line manager/head of mission

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programs and in the relevant field.
  • Knowledge on Visa processing system as per national rules and regulation
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Bangla and English

Salary Range: Monthly consolidated salary BDT 59,200 /- and other benefits as per HR policy of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.
