Programme Background
SNV Bangladesh is implementing programs in the RMG sector to promote Inclusive Business to ensure better health and wellbeing of the workers. SNV Bangladesh is seeking applications from qualified professionals for the position of Project Officer, to support the Program. The job description and required qualifications are given below. This is a full time position and the candidate will be placed under the RMG Inclusive Business (IB) Programs of SNV. The work location will be SNV Country Office in Dhaka. The contract duration is for 1 year. Further extension is subject to availability of donor funds.

Purpose of the Job
This position specifically contributes to the RMG IB programs by engaging factory management to help the factories integrate Inclusive Business models which were piloted and found successful to solve garments worker medical services, manage and promote gender friendly health responsible business practices, and support Service Providers to deliver better health services to workers at partner factories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly action plan to support implementation of the project activities.
  • Organize events like training, workshop, learning session inside the factory and outside the factory location.
  • Coordinate project activities organized by partner organisations.
  • Provide support to the management for overall project implementation.
  • Organize and conduct worker awareness of RMG factory workers on IB models features like benefits, Health Service provision and the scheme details.
  • Update project calendar based on changes to field implementation.
  • Follow-up and monitor field activities as per the field plan agreed with the Team Leader of RMG IB programs.
  • Develop internal and external monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Provide technical support to team members and different stakeholders of project for documenting progress, learning and challenges under the projects.

Candidate profile


The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Education: Bachelor/Masters’ in Health Economics/Economics/Business Administration/Public Health/Social Science

Experience: At least 3 years’ experience after formal education in a development organisation or similar private sector work experience. Candidates with work experience in the RMG sector will be given preference.


  • A good understanding of RMG sector of Bangladesh
  • Understanding of buyers Code of Conduct and CSR policy
  • Familiar about donor funded projects ongoing in RMG sector 
Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills and confident to communicate with external partners
  • Skill to facilitate trainings and workshops
  • Strong report writing and documentation

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to develop, establish and maintain positive relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Keen attention to detail with a methodical approach
  • Well organised, task orientated and able to co-ordinate a range of activities
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver to tight timelines
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively in the project location in Gazipur, Savar and Narayangonj area
  • Friendly and personable but confident to asks questions, challenge and seek clarification when required
  • Ability to work on own initiative in a pro-active manner
  • Good attitude with a focus on building positive working relationships
Duty station : SNV Country Office in Dhaka with frequent travel to project locations.
Contract Duration : The duration of this position is for 1(one) year.
Expected Joining Date :As soon as possible latest by 1st August 2019
Working Hours : Full time (minimum of 40 hours per week)
Salary & Benefits :The total salary package will range between BDT 92,802 and BDT 109,150 per month, depending on the selected candidate’s work experience.
