SMC Enterprise Ltd has a vacancy for the following permanent position:
POSITION TITLE: MANAGER, DEMAND PLANNING & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure Continuous Supply of Materials and Finished Goods
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to ensure uninterrupted supply across in-house and toll manufacturing operations. Raise timely indents considering supplier lead times, transportation delays, and production cycles to proactively avoid any stock-out situations.
- Material Scheduling and Cost Optimization
Develop and execute robust material scheduling strategies that align with production and toll manufacturing plans. Ensure material availability with minimal inventory holding, balancing service level goals and working capital constraints.
- Effective S&OP Execution
Lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings with stakeholders including Production, Toll in-charge, Sales, Marketing, and Procurement. Ensure alignment on demand forecasts, supply constraints, and inventory positions to support national distribution and customer fulfillment goals.
- Integrated Production Planning (Including Toll Manufacturing)
Collaborate with in-house teams to develop optimized production plans that align with demand forecasts, material availability, and capacity constraints. Ensure synchronized planning to minimize delays, excess inventory, and production inefficiencies.
- Inventory Forecasting and Rolling Requirements Planning
Develop and maintain annual and rolling inventory requirement plans for both raw materials and finished goods. Utilize market intelligence, seasonality, sales data, and toll manufacturing capacities to refine forecast accuracy.
- Inventory Control Procedures and Best Practices
Implement and refine inventory control standards, stock policies (e.g., safety stock, reorder points), and cycle count practices. Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Procurement Collaboration and Strategic Insights
Support the procurement team by providing timely and accurate stock positions, consumption trends, and marketing projections. Enable timely sourcing decisions to support both in-house and toll manufacturing production plans.
- Material Planning Ownership and Exception Management
Take accountability for material planning exceptions such as delays, over/under deliveries, or tolling shortfalls. Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions to maintain service levels and operational continuity.
- Digital Inventory Systems and Support
Work closely with IT and Warehouse teams to support and enhance SAP ERP/MRP platforms. Ensure all stakeholders have real-time, accurate access to inventory, batch, and shelf-life information for decision-making.
- Inventory Reporting and KPI Management
Generate regular reports on inventory metrics including stock aging, variances, forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and slow/non-moving items. Present insights and improvement actions in weekly and monthly management reviews.
- Inventory Tracking System Development
Design and enhance inventory tracking mechanisms to provide full traceability from procurement to production (including tolling) to dispatch. Ensure seamless integration with toll manufacturers where applicable.
- Stakeholder Collaboration for Seamless Production Flow
Coordinate with internal departments (Sales, Marketing. Production, Finance) to ensure timely and efficient supply of materials and delivery of finished goods with no production disruptions.
- Production-Tolling Alignment
Align toll manufacturing schedules with material dispatches, packaging availability, and customer order priorities. Maintain close coordination to optimize external plant efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and manage third-party SLAs.
- Inventory Compliance and Audit Readiness
Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
- Presentation and Strategic Decision Support
Attend regular management and cross-functional meetings to present inventory status, key risks, opportunities, and propose future course corrections to optimize inventory and cost.
- Business Support and Ad-Hoc Projects
Undertake any other strategic or operational tasks assigned by management. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing overall supply chain effectiveness.
- Any other task assigned by the management.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree in any discipline. Candidates having MBA or BSc in IPE/CSE/any relevant SCM degree will get preference.
- At least 10 years of experience in DPIM/Supply Chain Management.
- Age maximum 45 years.
