Founded in 1974, SMC today is a major contributor to the Bangladesh national health and family planning program. It markets a full range of Family Planning products, Oral Rehydration Salt, and has diversified into nutrition, reproductive health and female hygiene. In 2018, SMC was considered as the second largest contraceptive social marketing program globally. Bangladesh has the highest prevalence of low birth weight (LBW) children in the world at 28%. Micronutrient deficiency is a major risk factor for LBW. Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) containing 15 essential vitamins and minerals (UNIMMAP formula) will improve the nutrition status of the pregnant women. The Company is therefore, looking to recruit a bright, talented, innovative and hard-working individual for the following contractual position under MMS project.  The incumbent will be recruited initially for a two years period, which may be extended upon satisfactory performance.

Position Title: Manager - MMS Project (1 Position)

Job Location: Head Office

Age: Maximum 45 years.

Responsibilities:

Manager, MMS Project will be responsible for coordination and monitoring of the implementation of MMS project under the supervision of Team Leader. S/he will assist Team Leader –MMS project to develop program strategies and will be responsible for managing and implementing the MMS project activities as well as ensuring quality of care and increase access of MMS through SMC network providers, NGOs and pharmacies. S/he will be responsible to plan and organize scientific seminars, symposiums, continuing medical education programs in association with relevant medical associations/societies and key opinion leaders. S/he will be responsible for coordinating the capacity building activities for the different public and private sector providers including SMC’s Star network providers (Blue, Green, Pink and Gold Star). S/he will be also responsible for monitor the regular field activities and prepare monthly analytical reports for management. S/he will be responsible to ensure submission of quarterly, semi-annual and annual report to donor within the timeline. S/he will ensure coordination among all concerned departments within the Program Division at Head Office, Regional Offices and Area Offices for better implementation of field level MMS project interventions.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in any discipline, preferably in Social Science/Nutrition/Public Health or MBBS.
  • Preferably eight (8) years’ working experience in the health sector at a management level. Experience in implementing nutrition-focused public health projects/programs will be added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in documentation, report writing, and presentation.
  • Excellent Computer skills in MS Office application suite.
  • Result-oriented with a can-do attitude.
  • Willing to undertake extensive field visits anywhere in Bangladesh.
