This role requires a keen understanding of content development for both media and print formats, ensuring that educational, culturally relevant, and engaging materials are created for children, caregivers and teachers. The Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely production and high standards for content quality across various platforms.

Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, the country office of Sesame Workshop, a not-for-profit educational organization, creates innovative and engaging content to help all children grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. For more than 50 years, the Workshop has been a global pioneer in educating and entertaining children through multiple media. Sesame Workshop Bangladesh (SWB) started its operations in 2004 and got registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau under the Office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in October 2012. SWB produces the famous children’s television series `Sisimpur’ being broadcasted by multiple TV channels; produces and distributes contents through digital platforms; develops a variety of print materials including storybooks, puzzles, games, posters, charts, etc.; and distributes them through government organizations and NGOs. Overview:
The Manager - Content and Creative Services (Print & AV) will be responsible for supporting the development, production, and delivery of print and audiovisual (AV) content for Sesame Workshop Bangladesh. This role requires a keen understanding of content development for both media and print formats, ensuring that educational, culturally relevant, and engaging materials are created for children, caregivers and teachers. The Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely production and high standards for content quality across various platforms.
Detailed Job Responsibilities
Content Development (Print)
- Develop, review, and manage the creation of educational print materials, including books, activity sheets, games, puzzles, floor mats, charts, posters, storybook development guidelines and curriculum guides, in alignment with Sesame Workshop’s educational goals by preparing detailed plan.
- Collaborate with writers, illustrators, and graphic designers to create high-quality, child-friendly print content.
- Ensure print content is culturally appropriate, age-appropriate, and educationally sound, reflecting the local context of Bangladesh.
- Oversee the production and design process, finalizing the layout, design, and illustrations from ideation to final approval, ensuring print materials meet the organization’s standards and deadlines.
- Prepare the specifications of all materials prior to printing
- Ensure all outputs are delivered properly to the production houses and printers
- Check and document the machine proof and ensure that materials are printed error-free
Content Development (Audiovisual - AV)
- Assist in developing and producing educational audiovisual content, including TV episodes, digital videos, and social media clips.
- Provide feedback on AV content to ensure consistency in messaging, quality, and educational effectiveness.
- Attend production-related workshops, seminars, and meetings when required
Training and Workshops
- Organize and conduct writers’, Illustrators’ and content workshops
- Review training modules and materials developed by consultant or others
Project Management (Print & AV)
- Manage project timelines and production schedules for both print and AV content, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Track the progress of print and AV projects, troubleshooting any challenges and ensuring seamless communication between teams.
- Liaise with external vendors, such as printers, production houses, and creative agencies, to ensure quality and adherence to deadlines.
- Provide support to the Monitoring and Research department in preparing the research plans
- Review data collection instruments, research report and ensure that the study findings are incorporated in the final versions for both print and video materials
- Partner with local NGOs, schools, and community groups to gather feedback on content effectiveness and relevance to the target audience.
Others
- Ensure the sesame workshop branding and commercial guideline for all production Conduct regular reviews of print and AV content to ensure consistency in branding, tone, and educational objectives
- Stay up-to-date with trends in children’s media, print publishing, and educational content to introduce new ideas and formats.
- Any other task as assigned by supervisor
Key Qualifications
- Graduation, preferably with master’s degree, in Education, Early Childhood Development, Educational Psychology, Curriculum Studies and Linguistics or any other relevant subjects
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing educational materials for children
- Experience in both print and audio-visual content production
- Excellent communication skills in both Bengali and English.
- Experience in children's media or educational content development and working experience with printers, designers, production houses, editors is required
- Familiarity with digital and social media platforms for content distribution.
- Strong knowledge and skill of Microsoft Office Suite
- An excellent team player with problem-solving skills
- Good understanding on the issues gender, inclusiveness, cultural diversity, and equity in program design, content planning, content development, program implementation
- Wiling to visit project locations for monitoring and research purposes
