Terms of Reference (TOR) for conducting Facilitation Skill Development Training for the Green Graduation Programme Staff.

Background:
Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP) is a private voluntary development organization with a vision to create a society for children which is free of exploitation, discrimination and violence and supports growth to their highest potential. Established in 1985 with its head office in Dhaka, it is mandated to protect the children.
Programme Background:
SEEP and Nari Maitree (NM) has been working in the urban context for many years with the most vulnerable and marginalized groups to improve their economic and social status by addressing the underlying issues/causes of extreme poverty. Currently, SEEP and Nari Maitree are implementing a five years’ long (2023 to 2027) livelihood graduation programme in the Dhaka South and North City Corporation titled: “Urban Green Graduation Programme (UGGP)”. The programme's overall goal is to Urban Extreme Poor households can sustainably meet their basic needs and have improved coping strategies through strengthened livelihoods which place value on the natural environment. This programme will be implemented with technical and financial support from Concern Worldwide and Irish Aid.
SEEP is inviting details narrative and financial proposal from the qualified and committed Individual Trainer/training providing organization/ development professionals for the “Facilitation Skill Development Training” for the programme staff.
The overarching goal of this training is to enhance the facilitation skills of Urban Green Graduation Programme (UGGP) staff, enabling them to adeptly lead various sessions, meetings, workshops, and events associated with UGGP activities. A qualified individual trainer or training provider organization/institution is sought to conduct Facilitation Skill Development Training for a diverse group of professionals, including Graduation Mentors, Supervisors, and Monitoring Officers of SEEP and NM.
The training aims to empower 40-42 participants through two batches, equipping them with the necessary facilitation skills, knowledge, and tools. This will enable them to provide effective facilitation support to Self-help Groups, engage with different stakeholders, and connect with individuals and communities involved in the program.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive training curriculum for the 40-42 participants (two batches, each batch 05 days) facilitation, including session plans, training materials, and exercises. The curriculum should cover the following key areas: a. Basic facilitation skill methods and tools and introduction of programme and its importance in different situation and contexts. b. Understanding the facilitation impact and result. c. Training facilitation, group meeting facilitation, session facilitation e. Promoting resilience and coping mechanisms among the staffs during facilitation. f. Ethical considerations and cultural sensitivity in providing facilitating etc.
- Conduct a session to test and refine the curriculum and training module, incorporating feedback from project staffs.
- Deliver the Facilitation Training to Graduation Mentor, Supervisor and Monitoring officer. The training sessions should be interactive, participatory, and including demonstration in the training.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and support to participants during the training, including facilitating peer learning and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and administer pre- and post-training assessments to measure the knowledge gain and skills improvement of staff.
- Prepare comprehensive training reports, including participant feedback, evaluation results, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.
- Two copies of facilitation skill training module should be provided to SEEP and NM.
Trainer/Training provider organization will have to manage all the responsibilities related to the training such as rent of training venue, snacks (morning and afternoon) lunch, and training related all materials including IT e.g. projector, sound system etc. SEEP and Nari Maitree will be provided only local transportation cost for their staffs during training.
Total Budget: BDT. 800,000 (Eight Lakh) only including Vat & Tax.
Both batches should be completed by 25th August 2024 and all others reporting by should be submitted by 30th August 2024.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A recognized degree in social work or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 05 years of experience in delivering facilitation skill development training programs.
- In-depth knowledge of facilitation support principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong facilitation and training skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of participants.
- Experience in the design of interactive and experiential learning activities.
- Familiarity with the humanitarian and development sectors in Bangladesh, including the facilitation support needs of different target groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Bengali (both written and spoken).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders from various sectors and cultural backgrounds.
- Prior experience in conducting training evaluations and producing high-quality training reports.
