Society for Assistance to Hearing Impaired Children (SAHIC) is a voluntary non-government organization established in February 1987 and registered with the Department of Social Services, Directorate General of Social Welfare, and NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, with the aim and objectives of prevention, early detection, and rehabilitation of hearing impaired children, along with treatment of general people's ear, nose, and throat diseases. The Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) has accredited a three year ENT (Otolaryngology) residency program at SAHIC and designated it as a postgraduate degree program.

Brief description of key responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments, take medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
- Liaise with specialists for diagnosis and treatment if required.
- Participate in clinical procedures, ward rounds and Coordinate with nursing staff and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Attend rural ear camps in different remote areas in Bangladesh from time to time.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes and discharge summaries in the EMR system.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first-line treatment.
- Attend training sessions, departmental meetings, and clinical teaching programs.
- Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and clinical guidelines.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and health management.
- Participate in shift handover meetings to ensure continuity of care.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities duly assigned by higher authority.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- MBBS from a recognized medical college with BMDC registration.
- Candidates must complete a one-year compulsory internship to apply for Trainee Medical Officer.
- 01 year of practical experience in ENTD/General Surgery is required to apply for Medical Officer.
- Candidates having Postgraduate ENT-related credentials, DLO, MS, FCPS, MCPS shall be given preference for recruitment as a medical officer.
- Basic clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Have a high innate aptitude to reach skills necessary for a competent career in ENT
- Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in shifts or remote/rural areas if required.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in emergencies
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and responsibly.
