JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Manager, Admin & HR (Head of the department)

 Reports to:  General Secretary.

 Work station: SAHIC Head office, Mohakhali C/A.

 Contract nature: Contractual(for 3 years, renewable subject to performance).

Context:

Society for Assistance to Hearing Impaired Children (SAHIC) is a voluntary non-government organization established in February 1987 and registered with the Department of Social Services, Social Welfare, Directorate General of Social Welfare, and NGO Affairs Bureau Bangladesh, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, with the aim and objectives of prevention, early detection, and rehabilitation of hearing impaired children, along with treatment of general people's ear, nose, and throat diseases.

The Manager, Administration & Human Resources is responsible for overseeing all administrative and human resources functions within the SAHIC & other projects. This leadership role ensures the effective management of overall operations, workforce planning, and employee relations, resulting in a high-performance culture aligned with the SAHIC mission and goals.

Brief description of key responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the SAHIC's objectives and enhance organizational effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with leadership team to establish policies and procedures that promote a positive work environment.
  2. HR & Admin TEAM management:
    • Responsible for the performance of HR & Admin team.
    • Develop team members.
    • Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of staff.
    • Manage employee performance evaluation processes and succession planning.
    • Accountable for compensation policy & execution.
  3. Employee Relations & Compliance:
    • Foster a culture of open communication and address employee grievances in a timely manner.
    • Facilitate all internal investigation & disciplinary process.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining best practices for staff engagement.
    • Co-responsible for the validation of poor patient waiver of medical, OPD & medicine cost along with Director.
  1. Administrative Oversight & HR Admin Budget:
    • Manage hospital facilities, equipment, and supplies efficiently to support operational needs.
    • Develop & Maintain HR & Admin Dept budget.
    • Ensure the quality all admin/general service & organization resources are on place.
    • Supervise compliance & regulatory affairs.
    • Implement and maintain effective operational policies and workflows to enhance service delivery.

Required Qualification, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, MBA major in HRM/Finance/Operation Management degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Admin & HR, 2 years in leadership role. Experience on hospital/healthcare industry/ society will get preference.
  • Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen for budget management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & relevant IT skills.

  • % of Implementation of HR policy & process.
  • No of new HR policy & process developed.
