YOUR DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS POSITION WILL BE:

Maintenance Planning:

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules tailored to the BU's operational needs and aligned with Group Technical Services guidelines.
  • Collaborate with terminal operations and maintenance planning teams to synchronize maintenance activities with operational demands, minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Localize Group-driven initiatives such as predictive maintenance tools, CMMS rollouts, and digital monitoring platforms in coordination with ICT and Process Excellence teams.
  • Track maintenance KPIs and submit regular performance reports and improvement recommendations to the Group Technical Services function.

Support for Corporate Expansion and Due Diligence:

  • Provide site-specific technical assessments covering asset condition, equipment health, maintenance maturity, and infrastructure compliance to support corporate expansion initiatives.

  • Contribute technical documentation, asset registers, maintenance risk analyses, and preliminary CAPEX/OPEX estimations for integration into corporate investment evaluations and technical bid submissions.

Asset Maintenance (Maintenance Execution):

  • Oversee the execution of preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities for all terminal equipment and infrastructure.
  • Lead the technical workforce by implementing job scheduling, real-time monitoring, and productivity dashboards.
  • Ensure adherence to all maintenance safety standards, local labor regulations, and environmental guidelines, escalating issues to HQ when necessary.
  • Manage OEM relationships to ensure timely specialized repairs, warranty claims, and technical support.

Breakdown Management:

  • Develop and implement emergency response protocols for critical equipment failures, ensuring rapid mobilization and restoration.
  • Investigate root causes of breakdowns and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Inventory Management:

  • Develop and oversee inventory management practices for critical spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability without overstocking.
  • Monitor inventory performance, aligning practices with Group inventory control policies and re-order point strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits of stockrooms and implement measures to reduce wastage, prevent obsolescence, and optimize part lifecycle usage.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD HAVE:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Industrial Engineering or related technical field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in technical services, asset maintenance, or engineering operations within ports, logistics, or heavy industrial sectors.

Core & Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of terminal equipment maintenance, predictive maintenance tools, and infrastructure management.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams, optimizing maintenance operations, and improving asset reliability.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and inventory management systems.
  • Strong safety, compliance, and project management orientation.
  • Solid communication skills for reporting to both Bangladesh management and Group corporate functions
