Data Collectors for Room to Read

Founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children®, Room to Read is creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality through education. We are achieving this goal by helping children in historically low-income communities develop literacy skills and a habit of reading, and by supporting girls as they build life skills to succeed in school and negotiate key life decisions. We collaborate with governments and other partner organizations to deliver positive outcomes for children at a scale. Room to Read has benefited more than 52 million children and has worked in 29 countries and provided additional support through remote solutions that facilitate learning beyond the classroom. In Bangladesh Room to Read registered with NGO Affairs Bureau (Prime Minister Office) as an International NGO and has been operating since 2009. Currently Room to Read Bangladesh is currently working in Cox’s Bazar, Dhaka, Natore, Moulvibazar, Jhalakathi, Narail and Habiganj. Learn more at www.roomtoread.org.

Our ‘Literacy Program’ transforms Primary schools to enable children to become independent readers and lifelong learners. We build capacity of teachers, create quality storybooks, and establish classroom libraries filled with diverse children’s books that can be enjoyed at school or home. We partner with local communities, government and the publishing industry to implement innovative models that help children succeed in school and develop a love of reading.

Our ‘Girls’ Education Program’ equips girls with the skills to succeed in Secondary school and make key life decisions. We prepare girls to make positive changes by providing life-skills education, psychosocial and peer support while engaging family and community. Our program supports young people to build knowledge and skills to cocreate a gender-equal world. We also support Government and donors to deliver similar programs through their education system.

We are currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to work as Data Collectors for our upcoming research projects.
