Social Innovation Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh
Report To:  Social Innovation Program Manager
Expected Start Date: At Earliest
Contract length: Up to December 31, 2020.

The Bangladesh portfolio of Relief International has strong focus on emergency response, economic opportunity and livelihoods rebuilding, trafficking in persons, sustainable tourism, human rights and protection, refugee crisis response and public health. RI maintains a country office in Dhaka with multiple field offices in Cox`s Bazar. RI currently employs over 1000 local and international staffs in Bangladesh.

Relief International is currently implementing large scale refugee response program in Cox`s Bazar in Bangladesh in collaboration with multiple partners including UNHCR, WFP, USAID/OFDA.

Position Summary:

As Social Innovation Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for conducting assessment, organize skill development training, Community mobilization in the camps and host communities as part of Relief International’s program in Ukhiya and Teknaf project areas. You will provide assistance in set-up and maintenance of SICs in the camps and host communities.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Under the guidance of the Social Innovation Program Manager, assist with:

  • setting up and maintain of social innovation centres (SICs) for youth development
  • Designing of skill development training material, curriculum, module
  • Designing of IEC/BCC materials for community people
  • Organize and facilitate capacity and skill development training
  • Writing reports of training, community based event reports, case stories etc.
  • Assist Social Innovation Program Manager in writing monthly , quarterly and year reports
  • Conduct different types of assessment and prepare report with RI Social Innovation Program Manager and M&E team
  • Designing and overseeing implementation of weekly community outreach activities
  •  Assist establishing a livelihood support to FDMN in inside camp, and host communities
  •  Raising awareness on gender-based violence amongst community members
  •  Coordinate with Social Innovation Officers and volunteers for community level activities
  •  Close collaboration with RI protection staffs and volunteers, Operations and Finance team
  •  Support the timely delivery of program activities following weekly and monthly project work  plan
  •  Ensure timely support to the beneficiaries as per the program plan
  •  Ensure support to run the Social Innovation Centres (SICs) in FDMN camp and host communities
  •  Support Operations team in procurement and logistics if needed
  •  Any other responsibilities as requested by supervisor

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:Master degree (Social Science, Development Studies, relevant degree)
  • Work Experience:  At least 3 years of solid Experience. Working with INGO/NGO in Cox’s bazar is preferable                                 
  • Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
  •  Extensive experience working in livelihood and job creation programming or relevant    experience
  •  Extensive experience in building strong community-based livelihood systems and service delivering in emergencies
  • Experience in develop training curriculum, module, IEC/BCC materials
  •  Strong background and skills in facilitating trainings, coaching and mentoring others
  •  Familiarity with implementation of social innovation programs in fragile settings
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, power point
  •  Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties
  • Writing reports, case stories etc.

  •  Optimistic and friendly
  •  Flexibility

D.  Language Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in Bangali and English
  •  Command in Rohingya accent will consider as an asset
