Heavy Knit and Jersey Responsible

Puls Trading Far East Limited (H&M Bangladesh Production Office) is currently looking for a high caliber Heavy Knit and Jersey Responsible to join our Production office in Bangladesh

Main Responsibilities

  • Apply understanding of H&M trends, customer, concept to identify the right suppliers’ capabilities and skills
  • Based on the above and trends on Heavy Knit Innovation and Jersey Innovation, interpret trends into new materials and products/swatches /patterns with suitable suppliers
  • Keep every stage in the development process as efficient as possible
  • Follow closely what competitors are working on – product, material, and qualities
  • Identify and collect new yarns, structures and fabrics from suppliers to supplement Heavy Knit and Jersey boards
  • Develop swatches/structure and pattern with garment suppliers to illustrate the width of what can be done with the HIT yarn, including finishing / treatment
  • Work with Heavy Knit and Jersey to promote their imported fabric library
  • Drive the developments to ensure best options, qualities, prices, lead times together with R&D
  • In pre-order stage, support R&D and merchandising teams with clear guidance about Focus yarns, structures and fabrics
  • Interpret concept to material. Work with suppliers/mills to develop their capabilities on new qualities and / or improve performance on complex qualities. (Support from technician)
  • Work closely with the Material Management team in Production for suppliers for new material, season’s materials etc.
  • Work closely with HIT and JIT teams to secure all relevant information is spread to R&Ds and PDs
  • Secure PDs are informed about Heavy Knit and Jersey activities and keep library for all materials in Heavy Knit and Jersey
  • Support R&D/PD in search for similar options to their inspiration cuttings from buyers (from Heavy Knit and Jersey boards)
  • Collaborate on common goals as relevant with Material Coordinator/ Buyer, Product Developer, Merchandising team, Material, Sustainability and Quality teams
  • Secure developments from Heavy Knit and Jersey suppliers to be implemented in common boards for Sweden Buying Office presentation
  • Regular communication identifies supplier strengths, give and receive feedback to improve performance
  • With PD, update suppliers on trends, concepts
  • Secure developments from Heavy Knit and Jersey

Education and Experience requirements

  • Education in textiles or fashion preferred
  • Preferably 5-6 years of experience in a brand as Designer/Product Developer

Knowledge and Skills requirements

  • Pro-active and problem solver
  • Good knowledge and Fashion sense, price, quality, capacity & lead-times
  • Capable of solving fabric quality problems and creating new ideas
  • Excellent knowledge in written & spoken English
  • Excellent computer knowledge with MS Office programs

Location of this position is Dhaka, Bangladesh.
