Job Summary

Prottyashi, A social development organization has been responding the Rohingya Crisis in Cox`s Bazar since the crisis started and currently is going to implement project in the host and Rohingya community of Ukhiya with the funding of International Organization of Migration (IOM). Prottyashi invites applications for the vacant position titled Business Development Officer for “Resilience building interventions for the fire affected people” Project.


Business Development Officer will report to project Coordinator. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the overall business promoting activities of the project from the center point cooperating with project coordinator and other personnel.
  • Provide business development training and mentoring to the host community beneficiaries of the project.
  • Develop business and marketing plans of the beneficiaries in coordination with project coordinator to achieve project goals.
  • Work closely with the beneficiaries to sort out their preferred areas of business in terms of their skills and interest.
  • Perform market research to identify clients of the businesses and engage with project management team to establish strategies for pursuing their demands.
  • Meeting with market actors to present project offerings and negotiate business deals.
  • Explain prospective clients about the advantages of the products or services offered and follow up them in order to close the business deals.
  • Respond to client queries regarding the products in a timely fashion.
  • Analyzing customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with supplied products and services.
  • Analyze the production trend, sales, revenues and product deficiencies in order to provide recommendations for business growth and problem resolution of the project beneficiaries/entrepreneurs.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospective clients and business trends among the project beneficiaries/entrepreneurs.
  • Monitor business development activities of both the host and Rohingya beneficiaries and identify challenges and opportunities as well as guiding them accordingly.
  • Assist the project team in following the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
  • Promote businesses of the Rohingya beneficiaries through arranging camp based product fair and organizing several linkage building meeting with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
  • Assist in preparing weekly/monthly reports through coordinating with project coordinator, M&E Officer and other field level staffs.
  • Produce special reports on the project activities and outputs as per the requirements of donor organization.
  • Work with project coordinator and other filed staffs to ensure the collection of relevant and appropriate data needed for an effective business promotion which will be utilized in monitoring strengths, weaknesses and gaps in project implementation and for reporting on donor commitments.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Masters/Bachelor degree in business studies from a reputed university
  • At least 03 years of professional experience in national or international organizations/corporate house in relevant job responsibilities.

Technical Skills

  • Skill of photography
  • Should have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla
  • Proficient with MS office suite

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 50,000 BDT with contributory provident fund and regular traveling and communication bill.
