Job Summary

PROTTYASHI, a social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment with an aim to ensure everyone to live with dignity and prosperity. PROTTYASHI reaches the community with basic needs and supports to save lives and facilitate all the people of the community to live with equal value and priority. PROTTYASHI works for the disadvantaged portion of the population in community addressing their pressing needs following the strategies contextually viable and environmentally sustainable. PROTTYASHI has been actively supporting the refugee population in the humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar as one of the first responders since August 2017. PROTTYASHI has been vigilantly supporting these crises affected population to accomplish its promised commitment towards humanity and people in distress.

To ensure improved food security for the refugee population helping them to meet nutritional requirement in an environmentally sustainable manner, PROTTYASHI is going to implement “Promotion of Market Linkage” Activity of WFP Cox’s Bazar Resilience Programme with the technical support of Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation in selected host communities of Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Project Coordinator for the Project and encourages the persons enthusiastic to contribute to the increased resilience of the humanitarian crisis affected host community people in Cox’s Bazar.

Reporting

Project Coordinator will report to Program Manager of PROTTYASHI. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization. He/she should implement the project activities in close collaboration with Helvetas team.

Project Coordinator will supervise a team comprising of Market Linkage Officer- Off-farm, Market Linkage officer-On-farm, Database Officer, Accounts & Finance Officer, Market Linkage Supervisor (Horticulture), Market Linkage Supervisor (Livestock)

Key Responsibilities:                                         

Project Management

  • Responsible for overseeing all project activities including the aggregation center (on farm) and EFSN shop (off farm) related all activities and be the main contact point for the project, government and other stakeholders from Prottyashi under activity 5.1.
  • Ensuring programme management and financial management functioning collaboratively and in compliance with accepted standards.
  • Lead implementation plan development of activity 5.1
  • Ensure timely implementation of the project activities as defined by the workplan.
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, and mentoring, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes etc.
  • Assist the project team and other stakeholders define, communicate and drive the strategic vision and goal of the programme
  • Troubleshoot project problems, launch initiatives to reduce operational costs and defects, identify and implement creative solution for smooth project management
  • Provide support and monitor the implementation of project activities according to the workplan and scheduled timeline.
  • Coaching, mentoring, guiding and accompanying to the respective project team members.
  • Monitor project activities through regular visit in the field to ensure quality of the project deliverables and mobilize the field staffs.
  • Provide technical support to the direct beneficiaries in case of arising any complication in the field.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Facilitate different donors/other stakeholders visit
  • Any other activities as assigned

Coordination

  • Maintain liaison with the Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and PROTTYASHI Head Office for successful implementation of the project activities.
  • Maintain coordination with the food security sector to ensure timely sectoral reporting, progress sharing and strategy setting.
  • Planning, initiating and reviewing external communication to promote project activities on various platforms.
  • Preparing presentations for the meetings and issues for the various level of coordination meetings and workshops.
  • Attend sectoral meetings at the camp level and at Cox’s Bazar level and represent organization with the organization’s accomplishments.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly progress report with the cooperation of other project staff and submit to the Director (Program) of PROTTYASHI.
  • Prepare and submit reports for Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation as their requirement.
  • Assist Finance and Accounts Officer to prepare monthly financial report through matching activities implemented.
  • Prepare document of all events, program learning, process, and impacts of project should be sent to the central program team.
  • Collect field level evidence of project activities through photographs and send it to the central monitoring team of PROTTYASHI.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Master's degree in Agriculture/Development Studies/Social Sciences or MBA
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in implementing similar projects.
  • Should have 5 years of experience in managing, coordinating and implementing field level activities on food security, livelihood, DRR, entrepreneurship development and market development approach.
  • Having experience on off farm/entrepreneurship development projects will treat as advantage.
  • Working experience in Humanitarian Response will be an added value.

Technical Skills

  • Photography skills
  • Must have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla, i.e. monitoring report, field visit report, event report, case study/story, press release, content writing, etc.
  • Proficient with MS office suite
  • Able to take decisions in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 77,897 BDT with contributory provident fund 4,186 BDT, monthly bonus 7,917 BDT and regular traveling and communication bill.
