Job Summary


PROTTYASHI, a social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment with an aim to ensure everyone to live with dignity and prosperity. PROTTYASHI reaches the community with basic needs and supports to save lives and facilitate all the people of the community to live with equal value and priority. PROTTYASHI is going to implement “Unity in Action: Cultivating Sustainable Livelihoods, Community Leadership and Social Harmony in addressing Climate Challenges in Host and Rohingya Communities” project in Rohingya camps and surrounding host communities in partnership with Oxfam in Bangladesh (OiBD) to ensure a holistic development and empowerment within these communities promoting sustainable livelihood, protection and gender equality within the targeted communities. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Project Coordinator for the Project and encourages the persons enthusiastic to contribute to the humanitarian crisis affected people in Cox’s Bazar. 

Reporting

Project Manager will report to Program Manager of PROTTYASHI. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Responsible to oversee all project activities in Rohingya communities and surrounding host communities and be the main contact point for the project, government and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring programme management and financial management functioning collaboratively and in compliance with accepted standards.
  • Ensure timely implementation of the project activities as defined by the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, mentoring, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes etc.
  • Assist the project team and other stakeholders define, communicate and drive the strategic vision and goal of the programme
  • Supervise all the other project staffs including Field facilitators and volunteers
  • through maintaining regular communication with the project staffs and conducting regular field visit.
  • Provide support and monitor the implementation of project activities according to the workplan and scheduled timeline.
  • Ensure quality implementation of the livelihood, community leadership, disaster resilience, gender equality and protection initiatives maintaining standards and efficiency.
  • Organize meeting/workshop with different government stakeholders, financial institutions, private sectors and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate market linkage support to the enterprises developed under the project enring communication and coordination with external market actors in both host and refugee communities as relevant and required.
  • Lead the integration of disaster risk reduction and protection at the camp and host community level through sensitizing the community people, CBOs and person with specific needs.
  • Initiate community led actions to transform the cyclone shelters to disaster-resilient and women friendly social structures.
  • Facilitate transformative leadership training to the Rohingya and host community youth and women leaders.
  • Implement women and girl led Mini-leadership initiatives.
  • Facilitate recreational activities for youths in camp and host communities.
  • Establish Adolescent Girl’s climate action network and organize periodic meeting with the network.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange visits between Rohingya and host communities, focusing on climate change adaptation strategies, gender-sensitive responses, and coping mechanisms.
  • Organize Community dialogues with camp and local administration focusing on the differential impacts of climate change on woman's lives and exploring collaborative & inclusive decision-making solutions
  • Provide technical support to the direct beneficiaries in case of arising any complication in the field.

Coordination:

  • Maintain liaison with the technical partner and head office of the PROTTYASHI for successful implementation of the project activities.
  • Maintain coordination with relevant sectors to ensure timely sectoral reporting, progress sharing and strategy setting.
  • Maintain coordination with government safety net programme and service departments, private institutions and NGOs to ensure the people have access to the services and facilities for imprving their livelihoods.
  • Planning, initiating and reviewing external communication to promote project activities on various platforms.
  • Attend sectoral meeting at the camp level and at Cox’s Bazar level and represent organization with project progresses and accomplishments.
  • Self-directed leadership in donor communication and engagement aligning with efficient project management

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare periodic progress report with the cooperation of other project staffs and submit to PROTTYASHI Senior Management.
  • Assist Accounts and Admin Officer to prepare monthly financial report with necessary supports and guidance.
  • Document all events, program learning, process, and impacts of project and share with PROTTYASHI senior management.
  • Nurturing relationship with the press to mobilize it as and designing content for proactive media campaign as well as for publishing in local and national media.
  • Collect field level evidence of project activities through photographs and send it to the central monitoring team of PROTTYASHI.

Job Nature: Full Time

Required Educational Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in any discipline from any reputed university preferably in psychology, sociology and social sciences.
  • At least 07 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in implementing similar projects.
  • Should have 04 years of experience in managing integrated programs/projects highlighting Livelihood, Gender, and Protection.

Technical Skills:

  • Must have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla, i.e. monitoring report, field visit report, event report, case study/story, press release, content writing, etc.
  • Proficient with MS office suite
  • Able to take decision in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly

Other Required Competencies:

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 80,102 BDT, contributory provident fund 2975 BDT and bonus 6923 BDT (Pro-Rata)
regular traveling and communication bill.
