Purpose of the Role:
The position will work under the direct supervision of Director of Programs and will undertake business development & partnership and post award management related responsibilities especially focused on Pre award functions, by closely working with different functions including Sr. Program Coordinators, Coordinators, M&E Coordinator, Admin &GS, HR, and Finance colleagues.This position is also responsible for the management and implementation of Prottyashi’s approach in partnering with international, local, and national NGOs and CSOs; establishing Prottyashi as a leader in its engagement with Bangladesh civil society, donor community, bi-lateral partners & donors to produce better outcomes for the people we serve. Ensure strong, collaborative partnerships that deliver effective and efficient program outcomes in accordance with Prottyashi’s strategy in line with its mission, vision, and values.
Highlights of Key Responsibilities
Major responsibilities (Business Development)
  • Draft new proposals and concept notes which are consistent, high-quality, competitive, and aligned with donor’s requirements and regulations.
  • Develop clear proposal development timeline, provide early notification to relevant about the timeline; regular follow up with the relevant teams to ensure deliverables.
  • Maintain an efficient system for proposal development including clear responsibilities outlined for management, programs, finance, and operations departments - that yields timely, high quality submissions.
  • Organize program design workshops for all new business development opportunities
  • Coordinate with Finance team to ensure that, budget templates are developed and shared with the team on time; ensure that the budget is reviewed by relevant functions before sign-off.
  • Represent Prottyashi in various donor coordination meetings and external forums as required for business development and other grants functions
  • Develop briefing paper for donor visits and coordinate external visits which are relevant for business development.
  • Conduct community needs assessment as part of concept note and business development initiatives.
  • Perform other post award duties as required  
Partnership
  • Provide leadership and guidance for development and management of partnerships with potential international, local, and national NGOs, private sector and other relevant actors which are in line with Prottyashi’s Strategic vision, partnership, and Fundraising Strategy.
  • Forster building and strengthening relationship with donor, partner organizations based on transparency, mutual respect, inclusion, accountability, effective communication, and quality service delivery.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the civil society landscape in Bangladesh; and establish, build, and maintain a network of strategic partners, including with women-led organizations as per Prottyashi’s strategy.
  • Collaborate with Director-Programs and SMT to proactively identify potential partnerships with local and national NGOs as well as International Organizations.
  • Champion robust partner and donor relationship characterized by the core partnership principles of responsibility, results-oriented approach, equality, transparency, and complementarity. 
  • Ensure appropriate proactive and reactive communications and engagement with donors, partners through regularly scheduled partnership management meetings and outside of formal partnership relationships.
  • Facilitate systematic feedback on management of the donor & partnership relationship, as well as appropriate action in response to the feedback.
  • In accordance with Prottyashi partnership strategy, oversee all aspects of partnership life cycle management, from partner mapping analysis, partner identification, due diligence, project development, agreement development, start-up, implementation, monitoring and accountability through to close-out, coordinating effectively with all programs, operations, and finance components.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop Prottyashi programs.

Position Reports to: Director of Programs
External: Bangladesh NGOs, INGO and UN actors with respect to partnerships, Consortia and   Emergency Partners

Experience:
  • At least 3 years of total work experience with minimum three 3-5years of experience, especially in Business Development/ Grants Coordination; humanitarian; and/or in development sector. Candidates with extensive proposal writing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and ensure deliverables on time
  • Ability to elicit collaboration and cooperation from internal and external stakeholders during the proposal development process
  • Experience can be relaxed for highly deserving candidate
Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrable understanding of project planning and project cycle management
  • Required to be able to function comfortably in a complex work environment, under pressure whilst prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Good supervisory, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct analysis and come up with plans of actions and recommendations.
  • Ability to build good working relationships and work effectively with program, field staff and HQ from a distance.
  • Ability to respond to multiple priorities in a timely manner, producing high-quality outcomes.

Language Preference:
  • Fluency in English Language is essential
Specific Educational Qualification
  • Master’s degree in social sciences or relevant field of study
  • Major: Development Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or relevant field)
Certification:
  • Excellent skills in Excel and PowerPoint

Salary & Benefits:

  • Monthly salary: Gross salary on probation period 35,000/-BDT & after 3month probation period 40,000/-BDT.
  • CPF, Gratuity, 2 festival bonus, Boishaki bonus, Staff welfare fund, Lunch allowance, Annual increments, Staff house loan, regular traveling & communication bill etc.
