Job Summary

Prottyashi, A social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment and currently is going to implement a project to increase the resilience of the host community people and Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar district by improving food security, reducing disaster vulnerability, and increasing social cohesion in partnership with Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation. Prottyashi invites applications for the vacant position titled- Field Facilitator for “Supporting Harmony Improving Nutrition and Environment for the Rohingya and Host Community (SHINE)” project.

Reporting

Field Facilitator will report to Project Manager. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The field Facilitator will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Organize and coordinate different events in the community like meetings, training, day observation, learning visits, etc.
  • Ensure farmers are properly participated and trained and prepared for all relevant aspects of program monitoring.
  • Practical experience in farmer capacity building and market development activities
  • Support in the distribution of agricultural inputs like seeds and good agricultural practice items like composts, sex-pheromone traps, net, etc., and organize relevant training for the farmer groups.
  • Organize training on agricultural interventions including market development for both host community and Rohingya community beneficiary farmers through nearer location and field learning sessions practically.
  • Promote Good Agricultural Practices (GAP-IPM) like vegetable production in an organic way to the beneficiaries.
  • Visit farmer communities and local markets to monitor and collect real-time data on supply chains, and productions as well as identify potential opportunities and scopes.
  • Support potential farmers in establishing Demonstration plots and nurseries at feasible project locations.

  • Contribute to implementing gender mainstreaming in the program areas
  • Contribute to establishing a good governance system at the farmers’ level to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Support camp and host community-level activities.
  • Close coordination among camp authorities, UDMC, WDMC, Union Parishad, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide support at the community level for organizing events, work-related activities, and training when required and data collection as per direction of the Project Manager or Project officer.
  • Collect good case studies from the field
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills including experience in skill development, and market linkage.
  • Contribute to reviewing and adjusting the planning methodologies.
  • Accompany and contribute to other thematic domains in Agriculture.
  • Conduct cash for work activities
  • Internalizing different monitoring tools and providing accompaniment support to the community
  • Develop and maintain program monitoring and reporting system.
  • Take note of evolving changes in seasonal, socio-economic, and agricultural conditions in the program area.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly reports.
  • Ensure quality monitoring data collection from the field for PDM and help to develop assessment reports.
  • Organize community to provide support for different need assessments for project activities
  • Process documentation, collection, and compilation of required information from the entrepreneurs and stakeholders and deliver to the responsible subsector officer.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Agriculture or Bachelor’s in social science
  • At least 02 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in implementing similar projects.
  • Experience & knowledge in agricultural/DRR/Marketing activities. 

Technical Skills

  • Skill of photography
  • Proficient with MS office suite
  • Able to take decision in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly

Other Required Competencies

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 30,895 BDT with contributory provident fund 1,413, festival bonus monthly 2,692 and regular traveling and communication bill.
