Finance and Admin Officer (Re-Advertisement)

 

Location: Anywhere in Cox’s Bazar district

Contract Duration: Initially for 01 Year with possibility of further extension depending on the performance and funding availability.

Background:

Prottyashi is going to implement Education Cannot Wait (ECW)- Bangladesh project for both Host and Rohingya community in Bangladesh. The project is going to support the children aged 3 – 18 years to ensure the access and quality support of educational activities in the mentioned community along with other focuses like inclusion, children with disabilities and gender.

Purpose of Position

The position will be responsible for recording day to day financial transactions and maintain financial management of the project activities. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring overall financial documentation and compliance in collaboration with project coordinator. This position will also involve frequent travel to project sites, and close coordination with field facilitators, local partners, and vendors thus requires strong communication and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Financial Statement (Balance Sheet, Receipt and Payment, Cash Flow Statement and related notes)
  • Monitoring of fund management related activities with the Project Coordinator.
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheet and subsidiary records in respect of payment.
  • Make necessary journal entry and prepare trial balance using accounting software.
  • Monthly and periodic financial statement preparation for the organization and donor.
  • Monitor and control IT and VAT deduction at source and deposit accordingly and issue necessary payment certificates to respective suppliers/service providers
  • Prepare program/project accounts, financial report for the donor(s),
  • Coordination with Internal and External Audit related activities
  • Check and recommend Payment Voucher, Cheque and maintain day to day banking and fund management
  • Responsible for Petty Cash funds and weekly reports for reimbursement
  • Ensure cash advances are monitored and cleared on a timely basis.
  • Issue receipts for all money received by cash, cheque, and bank transfer.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Preparing daily/weekly report of bank balances and outstanding cheque.
  • Promote gender and social equity in all project interventions
  • Adhere to conflict sensitive programme management and display conflict-sensitive behavoiur
  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Following and enforcing the organization’s procurement policies and procedures
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.

Required Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in business studies from any reputed university.
  • At least 03 years of professional experience in financial management at the project level in national or international organizations.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with MS office suite
  • CA (cc) will be an added advantage.

Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 56,828 BDT Project contributory provident fund and regular traveling and communication bill.
