Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF), in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA has a long and illustrious history of conducting research in Bangladesh. PRF’s research has contributed to improvement of health of Bangladeshi citizens and has supported the career development of numerous Bangladeshi public health professionals. Projahnmo Research Foundation is seeking qualified and motivated applicants from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Study Physician for “Global Scales for Early Development (GSED) 2.0- Development of population norms for early childhood development under 36 months)’’. The study will be implemented in Sylhet division.

Job Title: Study Physician

Duty station: Sylhet

Job Description / Responsibility:

Major Responsibilities
The study physician is primarily responsible for the implementation of the GSED 2.0 study at the study site. However, s/he will contribute to other study activities and also support the administrative and management issues of the organization.

1. Effective planning and implementation of project activities in assigned areas:

  • Coordinate and supervise data collection from health facilities within the catchment area as per the work plan.
  • Assist in developing an implementation plan, data collection activities, and quality assurance plan.
  • Observe data collection activities and provide on-the-job coaching to the assessors, research assistants and data collectors where needed.

2. Monitoring, supervision, and reporting:

  • Supervise daily activities of assessors, data collectors and check for credibility and trustworthiness of collected data.
  • Review data and dashboard/tables/graph and provide feedback to hospital and filed team and report to supervisor
  • Critically review data, identify gaps and potential solutions, train the hospital and field team based on findings
  • Organize, facilitate, and conduct periodic team meetings and training at the local level.
  • Collate data and prepare progress reports (weekly/fortnightly/monthly), as required.
  • Response to the data related queries of the study

3. Coordination and liaise:

  • Maintain liaison with hospital authority and relevant personnel (OBGYN / Pediatricians / Neonatologist), civil surgeon’s office and other NGO and private stakeholders.
  • Participate in study-related meetings with the study team, investigators, and donors

4. Administrative, financial, and other responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving records.
  • Ensure proper and optimum use of project logistics, including data forms, tab, laptop/desktop computer, etc.
  • Assist in reviewing and managing expenses and supporting documents
  • Logistics management required for the study

5. Any other activities assigned by supervisor/organization in relation to study/organization

Educational Requirement:

  • MBBS with valid BMDC registration, preferably with Master’s degree in public health (MPH)
  • Candidates who have working experience in implementing projects will be given preference

Experience Requirement:

  • At least one year of experience in project implementation or monitoring

Competency Requirement:

  • Computer skills in MS word, excel and power point
  • Familiarity with statistical software will be an added advantage

Additional Requirement:

  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines
  • Should be able to communicate effectively both in Bangla and English
  • Able to summarize the results or observation
  • Should be willing to accept challenges and able to handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Should be willing to work beyond office hours including weekends and holidays (if needed)
  • Should be able to work with a team

Job Nature: Fixed term

Reports to: Project Manager

Salary and benefits: 73,932/- per month including house rent and conveyance allowance and other admissible benefits,

Benefit:

  • 12% retirement fund contribution by PRF will be given as per organizational policy.
  • Initial appointment will be made for 12 months but may be extended for a further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
