Position Title: Assistant Director- Finance & Accounts

Contract Type :Full time
Salary :Salary in probationary period Tk.54,200/- and after confirmation Tk.61,000/-.

Job Summary :

Assistant Director (F&A) will provide support for overall smooth function of financial activities includes financial operational transactions, investment and FDR management, fund management from bank and other financial organizations, financial accurate reporting, feedback on stakeholder`s query, prepare and provide consolidated financial report,  Bank reconciliation, prepare bank status report, execution of internal control procedures of POPI; Ensure that the expenditures are being made as per financial policies and procedures of individual donor guidelines & compliance with Govt. rules and regulations including TAX and VAT. The incumbent will report to Director (F&A).

Key responsibilities:

  • To develop plans & budget guideline and disseminate the information to budget holders.
  • Forecast regular giving income and consolidate income flow from all sources
  • Develop a common reporting schedule for reporting team and follow up meeting of the set deadlines.
  • To communicate with bank and other financial institutions for institutional loan and provide necessary information/documents to respective institutions and maintain necessary corresponding
  • To carry out all the responsibilities of PKSF loan management (i.e. prepare fund demand, loan disbursement certificate and repayment of loan installment as per schedule and send to PKSF)
  • To perform the responsibilities of investment/FDR management
  • To update all financial transactions, fund management, bank and other financial institutional loan management according to organization's policy
  • Produce and facilitate timely and accurate management/financial/statutory accounts and reports monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annually to all relevant stake holders.
  • To coordinate and ensure that monthly/quarterly financial reports are received from all branches on agreed format and timely basis for internal and donor reporting purposes.
  • Timely response to stake holders if they have any query/feedback on reports.
  • Ensure that financial reports and supporting schedules/documents are produced for audit, as per statutory/donors requirement.
  • To prepare and provide consolidated financial reports as per requirement of Management (External & internal).
  • Ensure that the appropriate management responses are provided for audit findings if any.
  • Follow up of audit recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with the donors Financial Framework / Guideline.

Required qualifications and competencies

  • Master degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
  • Chartered Accountancy course completed from a reputed Chartered Accountancy Firm.
  • 4-5 Years proven experience with career progression in the field of finance and accounting in NGOs.
  • Working experience in PKSF finance management and accounting is considered as plus.
  • Working experience with Bank regarding Bank loan, Banking report, Preparing Loan proposal etc.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate training/workshops/capacity building sessions.
  • Working experience of accounting software.
  • Experience in handling Audit of the project/organization.
  • Advanced skills in use of Microsoft Office Package and internet.
  • Good communication and negotiation skill.
  • Willingness to travel in the program area outside Dhaka.
