People’s Oriented Program Implementation (POPI) is a national non-governmental development organization with a vision to build a prudent nation free from hunger and poverty where every citizen leads a life with dignity and equity. Presently it has development partnership arrangements with government entities and more than 40 diversified development partners, MFIs and other financial institutions operating at international, national and regional levels. Currently it has been implementing multi-sectoral socio economic development projects and programs across Bangladesh.

POPI invites application from the experienced professionals with proven track record for the following position for its Strengthening Environment Friendly Buffalo Rearing in Kishoreganj supported by PKSF under Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP).. Working areas of the project are 3 Upazillas (Austogram, Bajitpur & Nikli of Kishoregonj District.

Position Title: Project Manager

Location of posting : Kishoreganj
Contract duration : 2 years, Up to April 2023
Salary : BDT 60,000/-(consolidated) with other admissible benefits as per organizational policy.

Educational Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in any discipline preferably in Livestock/ Agriculture/ MBA/MDS or relevant subject from any Public University/ Private University/ recognized institute.
  • At least 4-5 years extensive professional experience of development projects and project management;
  • Proven working experience in project management;
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bengali & English;
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office;

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the team and fully responsible for the flawless execution of project;
  • Ensure that projects activities are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation;
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress;
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques;
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques;
  • Report and escalate to management as needed;
  • Manage the relationship with the beneficiary and all stakeholders;
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation;
  • Meet with beneficiary to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of the project;
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels;
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals;
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis;
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with beneficiary as well as other staff members;
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills;
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency;
  • Coordinate and supervise the data collection;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Additional Requirements:

  • Age at most 45 years;
  • Having knowledge on micro enterprise development and practice;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent networking, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills;
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds;
  • Willingness to travel to, and work in, remote areas;
  • Ability to drive motorcycle with valid driving license.
