Hiring consultant to write report of the study titled “Multi-sector anticipatory impact study of COVID’19 towards the lives of children and youth”

COVID-19 threaten to disrupt the environment in which children grow and develop. As COVID-19 continues to spread, adolescent, youth and their families are facing new and increased level of stresses, resulting in increased risk of injury, physical, sexual and emotional abuse, neglect, and stigma. At the household and community level, social isolation can also increase gender-based and domestic violence.

Moreover, the suspension or interruption of existing child protection services and programs at community level threatens to wellbeing and impact all vulnerable girls and boys The impact upon formal and informal child protection systems will likely have significant negative consequences for children now and in the long-term. While the containment of the public health emergency and protection of vulnerable communities takes precedent; the impact of such measures on households and children both in the immediacy and the medium to long-term must be fully understood and considered.

However different, child right activist, social scientist and child psychologist only can assume the children’s home based situation and the aforementioned risk related to child protection are defining by different. But, right now there is no concrete evidence or research or assessment, based on which, the service providers at GO and NGO level can take the appropriate measures for protecting children from violence and abuses  and ensure child wellbeing during COVID 19.

So, considering the current child protection reality and abuse of youth girls and boys during COVID 19, the aforementioned study is undertaken to listen from children, youth and caregivers and to explore risk and vulnerability towards them in order to help children and youth in a coordinated and integrated ways.   The study is a collaborative approach of eleven organizations of Joining Force and Child Rights Advocacy Coalition Bangladesh (CRACB). The data collection of the study is carried out by coalition members. For data compilation, analysis and report writing coalition is seeking support from a consultant.

With this backdrop, Plan International Bangladesh as coordinating organization of this aforementioned study intends to hire a consultant who will write the report of this study.  The consultant/consulting firm will be hired as per this Terms of Reference (TOR).

Submission of Proposal

Interested consultant/consulting firms are requested to submit a technical and a financial proposal through email at Planbd.consultant.hiring@plan-international.org with a cover letter addressing the Administrative Coordinator of Administration, Plan International Bangladesh. The deadline of proposal submission is the 27th August 2020.
