Plan International Bangladesh is going to implement a multi years’ project titled “Girls Get Equal: (Integrated approach to end child early and forced marriage)” in one district (Barguna) of Barisal Division. The overall objective of the project is to reduce the incidence of child marriage in 16 unions of two sub-districts within the district of Barguna. The project will reach 26,000 children and youth (targeting the most marginalized adolescents and young women) in Barguna District with interventions across the five outcome areas-girls’ retention in school, youth economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), social norm change and child protection. The project will follow a clear tested graduation model to make the young women economically productive through effective training and income generating opportunities and socially empowered to achieve gender equality in the world of work.

Plan International Bangladesh is looking for Project Manager for GGE project who will manage and implement the project, ensuring proper alignment with Plan International’s Global Gender Equality and Inclusion Policy and gender transformative approach by developing actions contextualized to the situation of women, men and adolescent girls/boys targeted by the project.

The role and Scope:

  • Lead the process of developing the implementation plan of the project
  • Manage partnership for programme implementation ensuring capacity building and compliance management.
  • Provide basis for development of competent workforces for the project
  • Ensure development of M&E framework of the project to support comprehensive and quality monitoring of the project performance
  • Establish quality donor reporting system for the project
  • Implement advocacy issues of the project at the local level and national level
  • Facilitate programme learning and best practices for feeding into scaling up and advocacy initiatives at national level.
  • Support gender mainstreaming to partner organization regarding gender transformative approaches
  • Implement project’s gender equality strategy with clear targets and ensures that gender transformative change outcome is reflected in project documents
  • Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection, Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to the area of responsibility.

What we’re looking for

  • We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member with Master’s degree (preferably in Development Studies/ any disciplines of Social Sciences) and minimum 5 years’ experience in managerial position and working with partners in implementing the development projects. S/he needs to have relevant exposure of working with gender equality, women, and girl child and adolescents rights.
