Specialist Gender and Inclusion

(Based at the Country Office in Dhaka)

All over the world girls are at risk because of their young age and their gender. They are at risk of being denied the opportunity to access a secondary education, to gain the skills and training they need to work and to exercise control over their sexual and reproductive health. They are at risk of being married before the age of 18. They are at risk of violence and harassment from men and boys in every space they occupy, including their home, their school, their refugee camp and their city.

Innovating Pathways for Employment Inclusion (IPEI) is a DFID funded consortium project lead by Leonardo Cashier where Plan International, CBM International, ILO, Bangladesh Business and Disability Network, World Bank, and London School of Hygiene are the partners. A number DPOs will be involved with the project during implementation. The key purpose of this project is to enhance the economic empowerment and wellbeing of women and men with disabilities through private sector employment. In this project, the role of Plan International Bangladesh is to provide technical supports for gender transformation and inclusion at implementation of the project i.e. identification, skill development of persons with disability, capacity development for DPOs/partners, wage employment in the private sectors etc.

The role:

As Gender and Inclusion Specialist, you will mainly be responsible for developing training modules/ manuals on gender and inclusion for different stakeholders of the project in line with the gender and inclusion strategy; coordinating and facilitating capacity building of project consortium partners in these areas. Also you will be required to monitor the quality of the training delivered by the consortium partners to different stakeholders and provide technical support at the field level implementation of capacity building initiatives on gender and inclusions aspects. You will be supporting the Gender Advisor and Project Focal in developing the gender strategy for the project and gender assessment and audit of the selected private sector employers.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a passionate team member who is proficient in developing learning objectives and training module/manuals on gender and inclusions, skilled in data analysis and producing analytical and useful study reports. A Bachelor/Master’s degree holder with around three years’ experience in similar role with private sectors; youth economic development, TVET including job placement projects.
