The role
Responsible for overseeing the financial management; ensuring internal financial control, financial reporting and analysis, business planning process and people management. S/he leads the financial services provided within Plan International Bangladesh which has an annual budget of approximately €24m. In additional to this she/he also oversee organisations emergency response budget in Cox’s Bazar approximately €6m per annum. S/he is the approver of financial transactions up to €100,000 or as varied by the prevailing financial authorisation matrix. Based at country office this position ensures supports to the Plan’s program and projects areas throughout the country. The major responsibilities of the position are:

  • Manage and develop excellent and high performing finance team within the country
  • Provide effective and efficient financial advice, information and strategic support to the organisation
  • Ensure financial data validity while budgeting, planning and reporting and share data within the scheduled timeline
  • Monitor the accuracy of financial reporting and cash management and ensure all policies and procedures are established aligning with compliance
  • Implement Plan International Bangladesh’s partnership policy and Finance & Administrative Guideline

What we’re looking for
We are looking for a dynamic leader with Master’s degree preferably in Finance/Operations Management/Business Administration with 5-7 years’ experience as Head of Finance/accounts in any reputed organization with demonstrated ability to manage complex situation. Has extensive experience in financial management comprising both restricted and un-restricted funding mechanism involving complex donors and corporate regulations. The incumbent has also able to ability to adopt new software and financial management systems. Demonstrates knowledge about gender and development, and demonstrated understanding on development and emergency programs implementation. Ability and skills to managing staff at work and their training & development; high performance and driving performance forward in areas for which they are responsible. Ability to facilitate negotiations with different service providers, consultants and partner organizations in the event of arising conflict and solicit resolution through a win-win situation protecting Plan’s interests and image.
