The Role:

There are 52.58 million internet users in Bangladesh as of January 2022 with 31.5% penetration rate and 60% users face various form of cyberbullying and among them 65% are girls and young women (GP social impact strategy, April 2022). Plan International conducted survey jointly with Grameenphone and Telenor Group in 04 Asian countries including Bangladesh in 2021 and survey in Bangladesh revealed 85% youth user identified online bullying as a severe problem in compare to before pandemic was much lower (29%) and 18% youth reported increase incident of online bullying after onset of pandemic. Another explorative study on fear of violence conducted by Plan International Bangladesh found 56.6% of girls have reported receiving offensive comments, which violated their rights on digital platforms and 78.3% of the surveyed girls and women said they had experienced increased mental pressure and many suffer from profound psychological trauma (November 2021).

The Manager-Digital and Online Literacy and Skills position is key contact of action to build knowledge and digital skill of adolescent and youth from marginalized communities in Bangladesh and mobilize communities to create supportive environment to protect. This post holder responsible to coordinate with project partners and stakeholders to ensure project outputs and outcome delivered with quality and timely.  The jobholder will maintain close coordination/functional relationship with Plan’s regional colleagues, concerned authority, institutions/departments, stakeholders and like-minded organizations for better quality implementation. S/he is responsible for conducting & monitoring training/campaign, advocacy interventions to ensure programme quality, documentation and dissemination of project’s learning and good practices.

What we’re looking for:

We need a self-motivated and energetic individual with Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree preferably in Social Science, Business Administration, Development Studies, ICT or any other relevant subject from a reputed university. The person should have at least 8 years of proven track record of Project Management preferably who have expertise on digital literacy, digitalization & youth empowerment, e-learning platform, skills training, violence prevention, policy influence and national advocacy. Someone who has in-depth understanding of gender and age-specific economic opportunities. Having excellent project cycle management, project proposal development process with report writing skills. Having English and Bangla proficiency is also required. He/She should respect equity, gender sensitivity and ensure safeguarding issues.

Monthly consolidated salary range for this role is Tk. 129040.00 to Tk. 150,000.00 (may vary based on experience) along with other benefits i.e. Life Insurance, Hospitalization Insurance coverage along with Out Patient Treatment Benefit.
