Plan International Bangladesh is looking for a Lead – Child & Youth Leadership to design and deliver Child & Youth Leadership, and Child & Youth Agency Building related programmatic interventions. The role requires to develop the child & youth leadership portfolio with a special attention of girls at national level as well as linking this to regional and global initiatives where appropriate. S/he will take a lead role in the systematic planning and vision setting of leadership and empowerment with and for children and young people. The position holder will ensure high quality programme deliverables internally and externally to profile impact and success of the organisation’s work through thematic focus on ‘Child & Youth Leadership’.

The role and scope include:

  • Develop and implementation strategies & guidelines align with CS2030
  • Overseas the management and disbursal of ‘Child & Youth Leadership’ technical and influencing budget mostly during the project-start up phases, technical deliverables and related to influencing at national level
  • Responsible to contribute in the global youth strategy, Powering the Movement, supporting the design and implementation of new models for leadership and agency building.
  • Managing and cultivating partnerships with national and global youth-led organisations and associations
  • Lead ‘Equality Award’ to encourage youth/girls’ leadership
  • Closely work with thematic leads, geographic managers, campaign lead, communication manager, head of MERL, CMT (country management team)
  • Building and strengthening partnerships with young people and youth organisations.
  • The post has no direct line report but may need to supervise project/s staff, including the intern/s.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an inspiring and dynamic leader with a Master’s degree in development studies, gender and human rights. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior leadership, advocacy, campaigning and child & youth programming.  Significant experience in programme and project management and budget management.
Demonstrated experience in using with success key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development. Experience in developing and delivering strategies and guidelines in development and/or humanitarian contexts. Able to analyse issue, identify strategic and gender aspects, formulate key messages for relevant audiences and deliver through various mediums. Strong knowledge of child, youth and women’s rights and gender justice. Proven experience of working with coalitions and networks.

Salary Package: BDT. 169760 to 185000 (monthly cost to the company) along with other benefits i.e., hospitalization benefit for spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave, group insurance and yearly medical check-up for employee (only).
