Plan International Bangladesh is looking for a Safeguarding Advisor to play a lead role in ensuring that Plan International Bangladesh continues to be a leading agency in safeguarding children and young people and upholds global PSEA best practices. The post holder will lead implementation of the policy on Safeguarding Children and Young People. S/he will responsible to deliver Plan International Bangladesh’s new country strategy 2030 and programme to protect those we work with from sexual exploitation and abuse perpetrated by Plan International representatives and associates. This position can be based in any of the Plan offices in Bangladesh: Dhaka, Rangpur, Barisal or Cox’s Bazar.

The role and Scope:

  • Support to deliver Plan International’s strategy and programme to protect those we work with from sexual exploitation and abuse perpetrated by Plan International representatives and associates.
  • Ensure that all staff and associates understand Plan Internationals safeguarding policy and reporting systems
  • Lead the development and delivery of a safeguarding capacity building plan for Plan International staff and associates
  • Respond to and where appropriate investigate allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse
  • Implement Safeguarding best practice which is legally compliant.
  • Act as an advisor to the Divisional/Area Managers to ensure Safeguarding is incorporated into our programme implementation plans

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member with Master’s degree and minimum 07 years’ experience of working on Safeguarding and Child Protection. Strong demonstrable experience of conducting investigations, working to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse as well as identifying and mitigating risks.
