All over the world girls are at risk because of their young age and their gender. They are at risk of being denied the opportunity to access a secondary education, to gain the skills and training they need to work and to exercise control over their sexual and reproductive health. They are at risk of being married before the age of 18. They are at risk of violence and harassment in every space they occupy, including their home, their school, their refugee camp and their city.

Plan International Bangladesh is looking for a Director Girls Rights. The role and scope include:
- A key leadership position for Plan International Bangladesh and is a core member of the country management team.
- Provides leadership of Plan International Bangladesh’s campaigning and influencing work, and is responsible for positioning Plan International as a child and youth rights organisations.
- Contributes to the global youth strategy, Powering the Movement, supporting the design and implementation of new models for youth influencing and movement building.
- Works closely with the Director Programme Management & Implementation and Director Programme Development and Learning, building and strengthening partnerships with young people and youth organisations.
- Represents Plan International Bangladesh internally and externally, towards policymakers and the media
- Line manages 5 positions: Lead- Children & Youth Leadership, Communication Manager, Campaign Manager, Advisor GirlsNotBrides, Advisor Gender & Inclusion
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an inspiring and dynamic team leader with a minimum of 5 years senior leadership in advocacy, campaigning and youth programming. Strong demonstratable experience in using with success key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development. Has strong knowledge of child and women’s rights and gender justice, and a good understanding of the development and NGO sector. Essential, experience of working with youth coalitions and networks.
