Job Title: Community Health Worker (CHW)

Job location: Cox’s Bazar District.

Partners in Health and Development (PHD)- a not-for-profit organisation is going to implement a community mobilisation component of UNFPA’s project titled “Health and Gender Support for Cox's Bazar District” (HGS-CXB) under the leadership of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) and with the financial support from the World Bank. The project will be implemented at Cox’s Bazar District under stewardship of district health and Family planning authorities of MoHFW with the objectives to increase the demand for, and access to improved SRHR including FP and GBV services for the Host Communities of the District. As one of the implementing partners of this umbrella project, PHD invites applications from the permanent citizens of Cox’s Bazar district to fill-up some positions of Community Health Worker (CHW) in all Upazilas of the District.

Job Responsibility: Community Health Workers (CHWs) will primarily be working out in the community and be engaged with activities related to upholding women’s rights and gender justice, with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). CHWs has to work closely work with the Government’s Health and FP service facilities and personnel in order to implement health and population plans of the District to improve SRHR including FP and GBV services for the Host Communities. CHWs has to report to appointing organisation and respective departments of the government.

Eligible criteria for application:

  1. Must be a permanent citizen of Cox’s Bazar district
  2. Only female candidates are eligible to apply
  3. Education: Minimum HSC pass
  4. Age limit: between 20 to 35 years
  5. Recruitment will be made under each Upazila basis
  6. Work experiences in health and FP projects will get preference
  7. Willingness to work at community level

Other conditions:

  • Applications will be scrutinized with above mandatory criteria and applicants fulfils all criteria will be called for written test. 
  • Final selections will be made by an independent panel of recruitment Board composed with NGOs and the Government. Applications with recommendations on the applications from any person/authority will automatically be rejected.
  • Remuneration: 15,000/month
