Summary:

Coordinate and implement overall AUAFP project related activities in the district by maintaining communication with the government stakeholder. Keep proper communication and coordination with the other project technical staffs at the respective divisions to ensure the organization’s standard of service.

The position is assigned to Pathfinder’s Accelerating Universal Access to Family Planning (AUAFP) project, also known as ‘Shukhi Jibon’ in Bangladesh. AUAFP is a five-year project funded by USAID. The project aims to strengthen and expand access to quality family planning services through a collaborative health system capacity building partnership with the government of Bangladesh, specifically through a flexible implementation model led in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, including the National Institute of Population Research and Training, the Directorate General of Family Planning, and the Directorate General of Health Services.

Key Job Outcomes:

  1. Ensure project Implementation: Implementation of project activities, according to quarterly annual workplan in the respective district in collaboration with the project technical team members.
  2. Relationship Management: Build and maintain professional relationship with project technical team members and partner's relevant staff and upholding Pathfinder’s values and code of conduct while implementing the project activities timely in a facilitative/ supportive mode
  3. Internal & External Coordination: Organize and facilitate regular coordination and review meetings with employees and the stakeholders including DGFP, DGHS and NIPORT. Responsible for arranging workshop/training/meeting and any other outdoor program as per project activities.
  4. Project Management and Participation: Active role and participates in cross-functional project teams.
  5. Community Relations: Liaises with community teams for cross cutting issues and to ensure integration. Collaborates and networks with key stakeholders closely with selected teams to romote all the activities at facility and community level.
  6. Coordination with USAID Implementing partners: Leveraging resources of other USAID implementing partners at the field level for AUAFP interventions.
  7. Documentation and Reports: Ensures quality, reliability, and timeliness of performance reports and other programmatic compliance activities.

Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Program Knowledge: Must have commendable knowledge on family planning and reproductive health service delivery system and network in Bangladesh.
  • MOHFW hierarchy: Must have clear understanding about district and below level Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and National Institute of Population, Research and Training (NIPORT) hierarchy.
  • Local government system: Clear understanding about the local government system and its role in implementing FP services delivery.
  • FP services delivery challenges: Should have knowledge about FP services delivery challenges and barriers at the district and below level.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to present information effectively to small groups.
  • Training and Development: Ability to develop and deliver training to small and large groups.
  • Teamwork: Must have clear understanding about

Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:

  • Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Languages: Proven ability to write and speak using Bangla and English language.

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Services: Foundational knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments in SRHR.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in public health, Population Sciences or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies
  • 6 years’ experience in program management preferably family planning related experience funded by an INGO in the field
  • Prefer: 4 years’ programmatic experience in field offices/ district level under USAID project
