Request for Proposal (RFP)

Consultancy services for Training Manual review and development of handbook

Pathfinder International has been implementing the USAID Accelerating Universal Access to Family Planning (AUAFP) project in Bangladesh. The goal of AUAFP is to contribute to the improved health and human capital in Bangladesh.  In Bangla, the project name is “Shukhi Jibon”.

During the project period, Shukhi Jibon will support Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in implementing family planning programs, including capacity development of the service providers. Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) has been implementing different activities aiming to achieve Contraceptive uptake with increased share of Long Acting and Permanent Methods (LAPM) in the method mix. In this regard quality services delivery is the primary focus that could ultimately lead to increased LAPM uptake by reducing dropout and thereby increasing client’s satisfaction. While skills of the service providers are directly associated with quality FP services delivery, Shukhi Jibon capacity development programs are largely focusing on the LAPM service delivery skills improvement of the service providers.

Shukhi Jibon has done a landscape analysis exploring the existing capacity development activities at the DGFP. The landscape analysis depicts the LAPMs training needs and scope both for the DGFP and DGHS service providers. Following the landscape report, Shukhi Jibon have developed action plan, based on which capacity development activities will be implemented particularly in the Regional Family Planning Clinical Services Quality Improvement Training (FPCS-QIT) centers, Mohammadpur Fertility Services and Training Centers (MFSTC) and Lalkuthy and Azimpur Maternal and Child Health Training Institutes (MCHTI). While going through all the steps mentioned above, DGFP program implementors and other stakeholders will be consulted with systematic approach that includes literature review, field visit, brain storming workshops, and meetings.

Technical assistance is needed at this time for reviewing existing LARC & PM training manuals and development of handbook for different training, community conference and workshop.
