Summary:
Implement overall activities in the areas of family planning, reproductive health and gender-based violence for the host communities in Teknaf Upazilla of Cox’s Bazar by maintaining communication with the government stakeholder. Keeping proper communication and coordination with the project implementing partner, RTMI for their activities for the Rohingya Community inside camp 22.

The position is assigned to Pathfinder’s Packard Foundation project, which is a one-year project in Bangladesh, having interventions both for the Rohingya communities and for the host communities. The incumbent will be assigned for the host community support activities, while activities for the Rohingya communities will be the primary responsibility of RTMI, the project implementation partner. The project aims to strengthen and expand access to quality family planning services through a collaborative health system capacity building partnership with the government of Bangladesh, specifically through a flexible implementation model led in partnership with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, including the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Key Job Outcomes:

  • Ensure project Implementation: Implementation of host community support activities related to family planning, reproductive health and gender-based violence in Teknaf Upazilla in collaboration with the technical team members.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain professional relationship with technical team members and partner's relevant staff and upholding Pathfinder’s values and code of conduct while implementing the project activities timely in a facilitative/ supportive mode
  • Internal & External Coordination: Organize and facilitate regular coordination and review meetings with the stakeholders, including DGFP, DGHS service providers. Responsible for arranging workshop/ training/ meeting and any other outdoor program as per project activities.
  • Project Management and Participation: Active role and participates in cross-functional project teams.
  • Community Relations: Liaises with community teams for cross cutting issues and to ensure integration. Collaborates and networks with key stakeholders closely with selected teams to promote all the activities
    at facility and community level.
  • Documentation and Reports: Ensures quality, reliability, and timeliness of performance reports and other programmatic compliance activities.

Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Program Knowledge: Must have commendable knowledge on family planning and reproductive health service delivery system and network in Bangladesh.
  • Should have clear knowledge about the issues and challenges related to family planning and reproductive health services delivery due to influx of Rohingya Community in Teknaf and Ukhia Upazilla of Cox’s Bazar.
  • DGFP and DGHS hierarchy: Must have clear understanding about district and below level DGFP and DGHS hierarchy.
  • Local government system: Clear understanding about the local government system and its role in implementing FP services delivery.
  • FP services delivery challenges: Should have knowledge about FP services delivery challenges and barriers at the district and below level.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to present information effectively to small groups.
  • Training and Development: Ability to develop and deliver training to small and large groups.
  • Teamwork: Must have clear understanding about teamwork and be able to play individual role effectively.

Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:

  • Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Languages: Proven ability to write and speak using Bangla and English language.
  • Communication: Advanced oral and written communication skills, Ability to prepare and write reports.
  • Multi-tasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time and work cooperatively with multiple partners.

  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Services: Foundational knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments in SRHR.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in public health, Population Sciences or related
    discipline, or a combination of education and experience that yields
    the required competencies
  • 5 years’ experience in program management preferably family planning related experience funded by an INGO in the field
  • Prefer: 3 years’ programmatic experience in field offices/ district level under USAID project

Other Information:

  • Extensive Travel required; must be willing to travel in public transportation
