Summary:
Plan and coordinate project activities at the divisional level in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and monitoring of the project activities. Implement overall AUAFP project related activities in the division and maintain communication with the government stakeholder for running project-focused operation.

The position is assigned to Pathfinder’s Accelerating Universal Access to Family Planning (AUAFP) project in Bangladesh. AUAFP, also known as Shukhi Jibon, is a five-year project funded by USAID. The project aims to strengthen and expand access to quality family planning services through a collaborative health system capacity building partnership with the government of Bangladesh, specifically through a flexible implementation model led in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), including the National Institute of Population Research and Training, the Directorate General of Family Planning, and the Directorate General of Health Services.

Key Job Outcomes:

  • Implementation of Project Activities: As focal person of the project at the divisional level, ensures timely and proper implantation of the project activities.
  • Community Relations: Liaises with community teams for cross cutting issues and to ensure integration. Collaborates and networks with key stakeholders closely with selected teams to promote all the activities at facility and community level.
  • Project Management and Participation: Leads, manages or participates in cross-functional project teams at the divisional level.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain professional relationship with team and partner's relevant staff and upholding Pathfinder’s values and code of conduct while implementing the project activities timely in a facilitative/ supportive mode
  • Internal & External Coordination: Organize and facilitate regular coordination and review meetings with project employees and the stakeholders, including DGFP, DGHS and NIPORT at the division and district level. Responsible for arranging/coordinating workshop /training/ meeting and any other outdoor program as per project activities.
  • Project Activity Monitoring: Monitor all the relevant project activities. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports of all activities. Ensures linkage with MEL for compilation of data from the project sites and monthly service statistics data from MIS/ DHIS
  • Documentation and Reports: Ensures quality, reliability, and timeliness of performance reports and other programmatic compliance activities.

Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Program Management: Must have extensive knowledge on family planning and reproductive health service delivery system and network in Bangladesh. Should have clear understanding about the population dynamics and demographic goals stated in different strategy and policy documents
  • Informed Choice and Voluntarism in FP service delivery: Should have clear understanding about Reproductive Rights in relation to Informed choice and voluntarism in FP service delivery.
  • Data for decision making: Should have knowledge on FP Management Information System maintained by GOB. Basic orientation about different FP registers and forms would be added advantage.
  • Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC): Should have basic understanding about community engagement and SBCC activities.
  • Presentation skills: Should be able to prepare presentations slides and be able to conduct sessions in different events.
  • Teamwork: Must have clear understanding about teamwork and be able to play individual role effectively.
  • Budget Management: Proven ability to manage a budget within Pathfinder’s guidelines.
  • Training and Development: Ability to develop and deliver training to small and large groups.

Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:

  • Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Languages: Proven ability to write and speak using Bangla and English language.
  • Communication Advanced oral and written communication skills, Ability to prepare and write reports.
  • Multi-tasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time and work cooperatively with multiple partners.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as a member of the team, ability to thrive in a matrix organization, ability to be detailed-oriented, and ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Services: Foundational knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments in SRHR.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • MBBS/ Master’s degree in public health, Population Sciences or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies
  • 7-8 years’ experience in program management preferably family planning related experience funded by an INGO in the field
  • Prefer: 5 years’ programmatic experience in field offices under USAID project

Other Information:

  • Extensive Travel required; must be willing to travel in public transportation
