Travel Frequent visits to project sites and regular travels between Ukhia and Cox’s Bazaar

About the role

Based in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazaar the Field Coordinator is responsible for managing the field implementation of Humanitarian Response Project of Practical Action in the camps for displaced Myanmar nationals, along with the coordination with local authorities, development partners and other organisations in the area. 

Responsibilities:

  • S/he will play the leadership role in implementation of emergency safe sanitation, hygiene and waste management support for the displaced Rohingya communities in selected locations of Cox’s Bazar
  • S/he will coordinate with donor agencies, local partner organizations and different stakeholders for successful implementation of the planned activities.
  • S/he will maintain liaison with camp authorizes, local govt, and other relevant organizations as a local representative of Practical Action
  •  S/he will supervise and manage a project team consisting of multiple skill sets
  • S/he will take initiatives for building capacity of the project team-members and relevant service providers
  • S/he will collect, process and compile information and reports in line with the reporting requirement of the project
  • S/he will provide critical inputs and opinions to the senior management in determining the strategic positioning and work plan of the organisation in that region

About you

  • Master degree in any university from a recognized university, preferably Development Studies, Disaster Management
  • Minimum of 08 years of professional experience (preferably in international development organizations and emergency responses projects).
  • Excellent facilitation, coordination, team management, reporting and presentation skill; 
  • Ability to work and lead a diversified team and meeting deadlines
  • Fluency in English language and proficiency in computer application
  • Understanding about safe guarding
  • Understanding about programme and financial management
