Volunteer - Enterprise Development Programme

The Role:

The main purpose of the Volunteer position in the EDP team would be to assist in coordinating the Enterprise development programme which includes maintaining regular communication with enterprises, developing yearly budgetary plans for enterprises in areas of both capacity building and financial inclusion, contributing to drafting enterprise development programme reports considering both economic and social inclusion, to participate in formulating both operational and strategic plan of programme centering on the poor and women of different layers of community, to help Private Sector Team organize different events on engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and to gather and analyse data on enterprise, beneficiaries and other actors in different locations to align with the implementation plan, to work for visibility campaign for EDP.

  • Assist in developing yearly budgetary plan for enterprises in areas of both capacity building and financial inclusion.
  • Contribute to drafting enterprise development programme considering both economic and social inclusion.
  • Participate in formulating both operational and strategic plan of programme centering on the poor and women of different layers of community.
  • Help Private Sector Team organize different events on engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gather and analyse data on enterprise, beneficiaries and other actors in different locations to align with implementation plan.
  • Develop the questionnaire in both Bangla and English in consultation with Oxfam in Bangladesh EDP team
  • Developing infographics for dissemination in various platforms for EDP branding
  • Drafting new funding proposals and business development concept papers.
  • Provide necessary support to the EDP team when required

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate should have the basic understanding of advocacy, campaigning and communications and how they contribute to achieving programme goals. In terms of required behavioral competencies and interpersonal qualities, the volunteer must demonstrate humility, listening, agility and self-awareness & influencing capacity. The volunteer should be able to work with, support and influence others, and to display proven ability to work with alliances and to engage in institutional relationships.

  • Graduate in Social Science/ Economics/ BBA or relevant fields
  • Startup and enterprise development mindset and willingness to work in rural areas with marginalized community.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skill both in English and Bengali
  • Flexible to travel to the field in different rural areas in Bangladesh
