Project Assistant

The Role:
The role of the Project Assistant is to implement the Gender programmes in the camps and
the host communities where Oxfam’s country programme is supporting the partners to
implement extensive Gender Activities. The post holder will work closely with Oxfam’s
WASH, Food Security and Protection team to ensure an integrated gender programme
delivery, Gender mainstreaming so that the protection of rights and needs of women, girls
and men and boys are engaged at the camp level. The Project Assistant will also work
closely with other service providers at host communities and camps to ensure programme
coordination. This position is expected to deliver effective, efficient and timely management
of the gender programme in the camp and other areas by proving regular technical support
and operational guidance to gender groups and Community Base Volunteers (CBVs) in the
camp.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a sincere and skilled individual of Gender Studies, Social Sciences or any
other related background with a minimum of two years of practical experience in gender
activities. The post holder should have expertise in implementing field activities related to
gender and preventing Gender-Based Violence (GBV). This position will help to facilitate
different sessions/training/events and referral works. The post holder should have a good
understanding of gender context in emergency and its different impacts on women and men,
girls and boys. The post holder will also collaborate with other programme teams and
agencies to mainstream gender programme. Moreover, the person should have excellent
Knowledge of the feminist principles, standards of gender in emergencies & protection,
including GBV guiding principles, Safe Spaces for females and other transformative tools
and approaches for transformative gender changes.

possibility of extension.
Salary & Benefits: BDT. 438459 per annum (13 months) with other benefits e.g. hardship
allowance, medical for spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave &
Insurance etc.
