The Role:
Finance and Compliance team of Oxfam in Bangladesh works with a goal to support programme and other teams to provide all of the support related activities which includes financial and compliance and focuses on core financial solutions which incorporates many different facets from day to day activities, expenses, statutory and regulatory accounting, strategy and operations, analysis, planning and reporting for Countries and Regions, Affiliates.
The role is to provide a proactive, efficient, and effective financial management service at allocated thematic portfolios at Oxfam in Bangladesh and ensures financial systems and procedures are working efficiently and effectively.
What we are looking for:
- A confident, motivated and self-organized feminist professional with proven background of working on similar context who:
- Works corporately across the programme team from a technical aspect and with systems team limited to project management
- Will manage a limited budget or significant processes, relationships or subordinates
- Is required to collate information from a wide range of sources with agility and innovation
- Will resolve diverse problems with impact in defined area
- Manages problems of which some may be unprecedented whilst others may have occurred previously, and some of which may be complex
- This role has moderate internal and external impact
- Educational qualification: CA/ACCA/ICMA (part qualified)/ MBA/ M.Com.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing a whole range of financial services in programme support to an organisation, ideally with at least 3 years in International NGO.
- Ability to handle multi donor budget preparation and revision
- Proven experience on multi donor fund management and reporting
- Proven experience on partner management, reporting and capacity building
- Familiar with Govt. statutory and Donor compliance including internal and external audit & payment services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skill
- Ability to understand and implement the government Tax & VAT laws.
- Analytical and planning skill.
- Proven knowledge of computerized systems and demonstrable experience of working with computerized accounting packages and spreadsheets
- Adaptable and Flexible.
- Manages own time under guidance and direction from supervisor and meet the deadlines.
