PROJECT ASSISTANT- (RESEARCH- PROTIC-II)

The role:

The Project Assistant should be a professional with knowledge of mixed-method research and strong interpersonal communication skills to facilitate interviews, focus group discussions, and workshops with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in ICT integration within development contexts, leveraging ICT for capacity building, knowledge sharing, and innovation, while adhering to best practices and ethical considerations, including data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital inclusion. Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including coding, categorizing, interpreting data, designing surveys, conducting statistical analysis, and triangulating findings, is essential. Additionally, experience in facilitating participatory methodologies, moderating sessions, and synthesizing insights for research and decision-making is required. Knowledge of gender justice and social inclusion issues, along with experience in voluntary work, social research, and social activism, is highly valued.

What we are looking for:

Oxfam in Bangladesh is looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission towards a just & sustainable world without poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability, and inclusion in all you do. We are seeking an early-career professional who is agile and capable of working with various underprivileged communities under the PROTIC-II project. The role prioritizes cyber safety for women in digital spaces and requires prior experience in qualitative research, including conducting FGDs, KIIs, IDIs, transcription, and supporting content design and development. Experience in developing communication materials and tools using graphic design is preferred.

An ideal candidate for the role will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, environmental science, development studies, gender and women’s studies, business administration, mass communication, cyber security, geography, or related disciplines. A Master’s or post-graduate degree in a relevant field is an asset.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position, particularly in social research, and quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with research tools is a plus.
  • Sound understanding of development work, particularly in climate and gender justice and social inclusion issues.

Job type: Fixed Term, Contractual.

Salary & Benefits: as per Oxfam National E1 pay band, starting annual salary for this role is BDT 5,69,997.00 (13 months) with other benefits e.g., medical for self, spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, leave, life insurance, mobile allowance, and other admissible benefits as per the organizational policy. For highly competent & experienced candidates the salary can be negotiable.
