Specific roles and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Organize and conduct FinLit training for the left behind family member of the migrant workers and Guide families of the migrant workers to better manage the remittances and encourage them to invest in productive systems.
  • Update FinLit and entrepreneurship/IGA database and undertake M&E function as required
  • Conduct session in FinLit & enterprise thematic area in collaboration with Upazila Supervisor, trainer, and Community Mobilizers.
  • Organize Local Service Providers (LSPs) for capacity building training on Entrepreneurship development.
  • Ensure facilitation of Entrepreneurship training for the beneficiaries by the Local Service Providers.
  • Follow up and monitor Entrepreneurship training to be provided by LSPs to ensure quality.
  • Maintain coordination and organize linkage building meeting with MFIs, Banks, financial service providers to avail financial services for the project targeted beneficiaries and sensitize service provider for providing feasible services
  • Select and organize aspirant migrant workers and returnee migrant for the skill development training.
  • Profiling the public and private skill training providers, make a MOU with them to send beneficiaries for skill training.
  • Sensitize project beneficiaries to materialize the learnings from the financial and business development trainings.
  • Provide market linkages for the business enterprises along with follow up support to make their business sustainable.
  • Following up the IGA established by project beneficiaries through regular field visit, sort out potential challenges and suggest the entrepreneurs to take preventive measures.
  • Guide returnee migrants and families of the migrant workers to better manage the remittances and encourage them to invest in productive systems.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with business entities in the project locations to find out potential business opportunities for the project beneficiaries.
  • Encourage project beneficiaries to develop community level business enterprises with the remittances they receive.
  • Develop business and marketing plans for the entrepreneurs in coordination with project manager to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Manage and supervise upazila supervisors to follow up the initiatives of the targeted households.
  • Prepare reports, case studies and other documents to sort out the achievement of the project.
  • Provide support to the project manager, project officer monitoring and respective departments of OKUP to develop project reports.
  • Work with district manager and other filed staffs to ensure the collection of relevant and appropriate data needed in monitoring strengths, weaknesses and gaps in project implementation and for reporting on donor commitments.
  • Share learning and provide constructive comments to colleagues in order to ensure program quality.
  • Assist the project team in following the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
  • Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
  • Any other task instructed by supervisor.
  • Represent OKUP when and where necessary
  • Ensure very high standards in financial and logistics management to meet accountability and transparency

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience and capacity as reintegration officer/ business development officer/ economic development officer for at least 3 years in reputed development organizations
  • Demonstrated capacity in documentation, analytical ability and quality report writing both in English and Bangla
  • Excellent working experiences with government structures and key stakeholders at district level and proven experience in advocacy
  • Excellent experience to lead a diversified team
  • Excellent experience of the rights-based approach and pursuing rights for a disadvantaged group
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Commitment to the principles of inclusive approaches to programming that encourages full participation of individuals regardless of gender, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalized status
  • Pro-activeness and leadership capacity, extrovert and ability to work with diverse team
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Desirable:

  • Experience in working on migration, anti-trafficking or modern slavery projects/programs.
  • Experience in adaptive management.
  • Having valid driving license.
